I tuned to 1560 the game midway through their interview with Mark Berman so I didn't get the whole story, but from what I heard Mark said that Wafer was very apologetic about what happened in Game 2. He said that Wafer apologized to the team and wanted the fans (especially to the ones that paid money to see the game in L.A.) to know that he won't let them down again and will make it up the rest of the series. He also said that he did NOT throw the water bottle, when he was taking his seat he dropped it and he had this pissed off look on his face so it looked like he was throwing a tantrum. This is good to hear...
A positive sign. Rick says the incident has been settled. Von apologizes. I think we need to focus on the game now, and not worry about this distraction any more.
finally we hear from the man himself, I've always had his back even in the preseason, he gets out of line then he gots to go
Of course his ass better apologize, that fool already lost millions of dollars for what he have done. So hopefully this Vanilla Wafer breaks out with 30 tonight and redeem himself.
I want to see him take out his frustrations on the Lakers tonight! By scoring lots of points, that is
Von is getting his money. he may not get it from Houston but half the MLE sounds about right for him. He might have lost a few bucks but what he really might have lost is an opportunity to stay with Houston. He can redeem himself if he doesn't let it happen again and plays brilliant the rest of the way.
Perhaps he was just too eager to prove the wrong that the lakers kicked him out before and exploded. Good to see he has made that apologize cuz he really contributes in 2nd quarter.
good to hear. but i really hope he steps up defensively. kobe was just having his way with him when wafer was guarding him at the end of the 3rd quarter, which i think was one of the reason he was yanked.
i think wafer need to improve his IQ,only doing the right things for the team and as the coach said ,,it will make him signed . i just wonder why he can live in a team for a long time.he has the ability to be in a team .,maybe his personality make him lose many opotunities.. but go rockets ,,doing the right thing for the team wafer, come on ..get more poins and beal LA
The guy would be dumb to come back to Houston any ways. If I were him, I would sign a 1 or 2 years deal (with 2nd being player option) with a bad team where I would get to start and pad my stats for a season. Then come 2010 offseason, he would be a consolation prize for a bunch of teams sour on missing out on the cream of the crop in that free agency, yet still in need of an offensive minded player that could put up points in a hurry.
I hope his apology included some sort of "And I realize the Lakers (particularly Vujacic) are just trying to get inside my head" admission.
