When do you bring in Lidge?

  1. Save situation only - we shouldn't deviate from the normal game plan.

  2. Non-save situation only - he's too fragile right now. Let him get his confidence back first.

  3. Any lead or close game - Get him in there asap. He needs to get his confidence back.

  4. Not at all - He's done so don't take a chance on him.

Ok you make the call for game three. Given Lidge's two devastating back-to-back moments this postseason and his definite need to get back to the mound to put last game's blow behind him, when would you bring him in for game 3, if at all.

I think he needs to get back to the mound as quick as possible to try and find his groove again and build his confidence back. No matter what he says, you know this is taking a toll on him. So I think it's best for not only the Astros chances in this Series but his future as a closer, to get him back on the mound and give him a chance to put this stuff behind him. I say, put him in there in the 9th no matter the lead (also if were down about 1 or tied). And whoever is at the game better get behind more than you ever have before. Now's the time he needs the team and the fans support the most. Course if Roy is flat out dominating and his pitch count is low, then by all means, keep him in there as long as you can.

I say you have to bring him in with a save on the line. If you don't, you automatically mess with his confidence and nothing good can come from that. If you bring him in, sure, he could blow the save again, but you also have the chance that he saves the game and his confidence is restored.

    Well, as I see it....

We are going to blow out the Sox in game 3, so he will be in a non-save position. BUT, he will get some work done.

Well seeing has how Lidge didn't blow that save in game 2, you can chalk that one up to Dan Wheeler (but to his credit he has been solid all year, just couldn't have come at worse f'in time) i say what choice do you have?
