"We don’t know if the suspect fled or the extent of the injuries to the suspect or to the officer," NBC News’ Pete Williams told MSNBC TV. "This was a traffic stop on campus," Williams said. "It was not someone walking around firing shots."
I'm starting to get that way...You almost feel like staying home and putting up sandbags and barbwire around the perimeter sometimes... sigh ...too many idiots...
I know it's not the foremost concern at this time, but this can't be good for enrollment and the perception of safety on that campus. This could have happened anywhere, but the fact that it has happened there twice doesn't look good.
Virgina Tech and Oklahoma State have had to much heartache and tragedy in recent years. RIP to the victims
and wasn't there another scare or lockdown in between those two times? The sad thing is that it's actually a very nice campus in a small peaceful town, generally one of the safest areas around. I spent most of my early childhood there and it was a shock having to move to a city and losing that security. I've been back to visit recently and it still looks great. The problem is it only takes one person to do this the first time, and then once it gets a lot of attention some crazy copycats are going to try to be next, often at the same place.
