Vinny Castilla was released by Tampa Rays and has expressed interest in playing for Houston. The first thing I thought when I heard he was cut is that the Astros should give him a shot. They will only be liable for $200,000 of his contract for the rest of this year. He is a free agent after this season so this seems like a no brainer. At the least he is a potentially potent bat off the bench, at best he would be the everyday 3rd baseman. ------------------
