I went out to the Dome tonight to catch Madison vs Katy. Vincent Young is sick. He dances around the pocket and eludes just about any one-on-one tackle. The only way you can contain the guy is if you have at lesat 5 guys around him. Oh ya, he has a cannon for an arm. The guy has no weakness. Reggie McNeal who?
I totally agree. I went to the game also but I also caught quite a few of Madison's regular season games also. Vincent Young will be the next Michael Vick with an extra 2 or 3 inches. Also when the defense is soarly lacking, they put him in their at free safety and he knows how to play that position as well as anyone. What surprises me the most about him is how calm he is and how accurate he is on the run for a high school player. He's the big ticket in Texas high school football for me.
ive heard its a 3 horse race for him UT, FLA, FSU, if he chooses texas he wont start till his soph yr, except at kr or db possibly
i agree nomar, plus fsu has rix so i think UT stands a good shot considering he can get the job once simms leaves next yr as a senior
As an FSU student, I can assure you that Rix is NOT that good, lol. He'll probably get beaten out by our incomnig transfer QB next year. Young would easily win the job in Tallahassee right off the bat.
Young is looking at Mia, not Fla. Mia, FSU, and UT are the 3 teams. Basically 1/3rd chance for all 3 to get him. I'm an FSU fan, and I think Rix is pretty good, for a RS frosh. Young would give Rix a run for his money. The great thing about Young is that if he can't make it as a QB, he can be a great WR or DB. The guy will be a bad ass at any position. When was the last time the Houston area had such a highly recruited QB?
Hot damn the Katy Tigers suck! Those who went to the game, how did Jerrold Jones look? That shorty is annoying. Katy won't be state champs for awhile. Tiger fans are extremely annoying to the opposing team and their fans. I've been to a few of their games (my girlfriend goes there), and the play clock has ran out numerous times because the crowd is so loud, the QB can't call anything. Madison will take State.

Supposedly Mack Brown is selling his snake oil to Young, and Young's buying. Simms will be a senior next year. Chance Mock, blue chip recruit out of The Woodlands, will be a junior in 2003 and has been promised the starting spot after Simms leaves. We also recruited one of the state's top QB's in Matt Nordgren last fall. He's a stud too. So much talent, so little room. Also, little known fact, Kendal Briles chose UT last fall over Tech, where his dad coaches! Basically Mack has can get whatever players in Texas he wants except for Tommie Harris .
Katy fans were classless on Fri night. Before, I thought they were good fans. In Friday's game, Young was down with some injury, and when the PA announcer said it was Young who was hurt, some Katy fans started cheering. That is really pathetic when 40-50 year olds cheer when an 17 or 18 year old kid gets hurt.
