    reports from N.O say..

    Vince Carter & Jalen Rose....

    for

    PJ.Brown & J.Magloire + Cash.

Not really for the Hornets they lose their starting front court, Jalen Rose is over rated, and they already have an over rated guy in Jamal Mashburn. I wouldn't do it if I were the Hornets, replace Magloire with Mash and Rose with Marshall and I'll take it and run...

Raptors give up too much in the trade, and Hornets lose a lot of sizes. I think it is really bad move for raptors, and Hornets has to have follow up trades to make up the size, otherwise they cannot survive in the west.

I don't think that could possibly work: VC and Rose make $27 million combined next year. Brown makes $8, and I know Magloire isn't making $17. There has to be something else involved. It is being reported like you said, though:

Assuming this somehow is legit if other players (Mash?) or picks are tossed in, I'd say the Hornets win out. A little. BD/VC/Rose makes for a deadly perimeter trio a la the 90s Mavs or Run TMC. Losing their big men will kill them in the West, though.

Toronto will have to gut its team to rebuild if they do this. They'll have no quality players at the 1, 2, or 3 (unless Marshall slides over). Bosh and Magloire make for a great frontline in the East, but who's going to take pressure off their double teams?

Vince for Baron Davis makes more sense, IMO. Or Vince for A Walker, even.

NO must really believe in Anderson, West, Lynch, and, to a degree, Peterson.

Peterson is still a Raptor, they matched his offer... Didn't know Magloire was Canadian...

Peterson...is not a Raptor YET.....according to the Raptors they have not matched the offer.....but it might happen.

this trade was supposed to be a silly rumor out of N.O.....but then two other sources confirmed it so i guess it is legit....

Geez. That leaves NO with only Traylor and Anderson on the front line. They are going to get killed in the trenches.

The Raptors need to drop Rose out of the deal, or they need to include a third team with a player or T-E, to make it work.

You'd think the Raptors would get a star back for Vince Carter. They've allways said they need a star back to trade him. There's another shoe to drop here. The Hornets star is Baron Davis. Mashburn has been an unhappy camper for a while there too, but reports are that he is never going to be healthy.

Very strange, anyway. The ancient PJ Brown and the above average for the east Magloire aren't really a match for a superstar.

I've got to think Baron is in the deal, or a third team's star.

EDIT = now remember Dallas wants VC - Dallas has extra "stars". I smell Cuban.

Magloire is from toronto i believe, so having the hometown kid playing for you could fill seats, not to mention he was a all-star last year.

Jamaal 3rd rate Center freakin Magloire is nothing near Vincanity. If I were a Raptors fan i'd de pretty damn pissed if this trade happened.

Why do you think J-mag is 3rd rate? He did great in the allstar game and had a breakthrough season . Hes a top 3 center in the East, and a top 5 center in the west.

    Just B....

"supposedly" Vince still wants out...though they do not want him to go public with it....that's why you have that article.....Vince's value is lower when he demands for a trade....
