Would you take the remaining 2 yrs, 33 million on Carter's contract for a chance at contending next season? Nets seem like they just want expirings for him. We might have to take Najera too.

I'd do it but they would have to include sean williams and the 11th pick although i doubt theyd do it unless they are desperate.

I just know if we want a guy who is a volume shooter. I gotta agree with DD, I'd like to get hold of Corey Maggette. He is a seasoned veteran who knows how to play in the NBA, is probably at his peak at 29 years of age. The thing I LOVE about him is he gets to the free throw line 8.1 times per game, quietly good for 6th in the league. He's not my first choice, but lets get real on getting an Amare Stoudemire or Steve Nash top tier player.

I´d prefer to try first on magette and turiaf from GS.
Or at least a real SG.

Monta Ellis is a real shooting guard, although a little undersized. He's a volume shooter who shoots at a high percentage...a very good moneyball stat.

I like Monta, but the tought of backcourt the size of Brooks and Ellis is not good.

of course it would his career offensive numbers are solid.

    23.5 ppg

    45% FG %

    80% FT%

    38% TP%

I know he has a knack for being called soft, but in a system where he really does'nt have to concentrate much of defense by us having Ron and Shane I think being in Houston would give him a bit of a career rebirth.

Realist- Other than your commen sense (which did not deter you from putting this with the multiple other threads that it could be pertinent to) What tells you Carter could be had straight up for McGrady? Link?

I bet your next post will be titled "We need a healthy Tmac to be best in the East."

hell yes i would take VC for t-mac. VC + Artest would be our most consistent perimeter scorers...ever.

artest and consistent scoring should never be mentioned in the same sentence. he has 2 good scoring games for every 7-8 porous offensive games.

yep, but he's certainly a capable scorer when he's on, and always warrants attention.

him and carter, regardless of artest's inconsistencies would be brutal defensive task for any team.

tmac on one leg warranted attention also, but that isn't gonna help if you can't do other things offensively when you don't make shots.

vince carter can do other things offensively when his shot isn't on. artest can be god awful, which he was for most of the playoffs offensively.

any NBA player can be a capable scorer when they're on. the great ones can do other things when they're off shooting the ball.

I'd do it. I'd feel real bad for Tmac though if we win a championship with VC, Artest, and Yao but I'll get over it.
