    Vikings @ Texans 10/10/04

This is the chance for the Texans to earn their respect throughout the NFL. Also the schedule only gets harder from here.

-Line is at a measley 3.5!?!
    -Vikings are a Turf Team
    -Vikings RB is hurt
-Texans could easily be 3-1 right now

You're forgetting Culpepper and Moss. I hope the Texans can pull it out. I'm going to be rooting for them.

Aside from the second half last week, the Texans defense certainly hasn't been spectacular this year. On the other hand, they are improving, and last week's take-aways were nice.

Offensively, I think they are continuing to gel. The 4 offensive keys to me have to be: (1) no turnovers, (2) touchdowns instead of field goals in the red-zone, (3) continued consistent zone line-blocking, (4) keep feeding Andre Johnson. A dominant running back would help, but I don't think it's necessary.

This will be a tough game to win, but I'll be optimistic.

With the defense that Vikings have i would be really mad if Palmer didn't run some plays that stretched their defense and took a shot deep cause every other team has done it and been successful.

    Either way

Let's go Texans! Hopefully the Astros won't need a game 4 so I can watch this game....

Otherwise I will have to be flipping through the channels during ads....mainly watching the Stros.

    Texans 35
    David Carr: 23/36,316 yds, 3 TD's
    Andre Johnson: 8 rec, 122 yds, 2 TD's
Domanick Davis: 18 carries, 84 yds, 1 TD

    Vikings 24
    Daunte Culpepper: 25/39, 265 yds, 3TD's
    Randy Moss: 7 rec, 92 yds, 2 TD's
    Kelly Campbell: 4 rec, 64 yds, 1 TD's

    Inactive Vikes:
    RB Micheal Bennett (OUT)
    LB E.J Henderson (OUT)
    TE Jerome Wiggins (OUT)
    RB Ontarrio Smith (OUT)

    Inactive Texans:
    SS Eric Brown (OUT)
    DL Junior Ioane (OUT)

I honestly believe the Texans have found their groove as a team, and are prepared to take that next step towards a playoff run. If the O-Line can perform similarly to last week, and the D can hurry Daunte, the Texans will win.

Looks like Moe WIlliams might actually be out as well leaving M. Moore as their starting running back which could be a good thing for us.

Actually I'm worried about this. Moore is a pretty good back with great hands and loves to catch those short passes out of the backfield and turn them into big gains. As long as we can contain this I think we can handle their running game. Isn't Matt Birk banged up as well?

    Texans...28
    Vikings...27

Close game that will be won in the 4th qtr. With the Vikes on their 4th running back, it will be important that Sharper and Foreman keep Culpepper in the pocket, Wong and Babin/Peek smack him if he leaves the pocket, and that the DB's stay with their man. It seems that when an opposing QB gets outside of the pocket and the WR's start to improvise, our DB's loose concentration and give them a big enough hole to sit in, especially on 3rd down.

    GO TEXANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Texans. Moss will recieve double coverage all game, which will give opportunities for Kelly Campbell to have a big game (most likely against Dunta). If at any point Moss is single covered he will torch our secondary, much like he does in single coverage against any opponent. I would like to see some zone blitzing with over the top coverage from the Texans defense that will hopefully confuse Culpepper and allow us to get pressure. We do have home field here combined with their running back woes, so there are some bright spots. I don't know how good our chances are but, Go Texans!

Bring your ponchos to the game! Mark Vandermeer says Capers wants roof open rain or shine!

Yes...we need to let more hang-out and put the blitz in effect--look what it did to the Raiders--busy watching snarling LB's instead of waiting for the snap

I don't think it is Caper's call to make. I remember something about the NFL having final say about 1 1/2 hours prior to game time.

I don't think it is up to the NFL. It is up to the Texans, but they have to make the final decision 1 1/2 hours before the game.

I think you're right but Mark said bring your ponchos because if it starts to rain during the game, they do not have to close the roof and Capers wants the roof open.

So we know for sure that the roof will be open? Where is this kind of info listed?
Just wondering. This is my first game at Reliant this season.
