Rox vs Spurs Pre and Postgame shows

    Rox vs Spurs full game

    Rox vs Spurs clip vid

    Rockets Insider 11/06/07

Im currently the only seed on all the above vids, so just be patient, and know that no matter what your client shows, there *IS* a seed...me

    REMINDERS:

    1) As most of you know, the videos are encoded with the xvid codec and are being made available using the bittorrent p2p protocol, so if you arent sure what that means, check this FAQ written by droxford or google for help and then post here if you still have trouble after that.

Dont forget the need to seed...seeding is so important to bittorrent working right.

    2) if you download via a yousendit link....you really need to re-upload to yousendit and post the link here...it is most uncool to leech that and not return the favor...those links are only good for 25 downloads apiece.

    3) if you are trying to play it on Windows Media Player, Quicktime, or RealPlayer and it still wont play after you install the xvid codec ..I would recommend using:

    Media Player Classic
BS player(scroll down to get free BS Player)
    VLC Player

    4) the Need To Feed the Tipjar (See my sig) is a ever-present need...if this server doesnt receive support, you never know when one day it might go away...and then where would you be? Clutch cant do everything for us...lets give the man a hand.

    Go Rockets

    :D

Seriously is there a Bit Torrent program that does not have spyware or kill your network connection? I'm willing to pay for such a invention.

I have been using BitComet since I started to download R2K's videos (more than a whole season already). I don't think it brings spyware to my PC. In terms of the network traffic, you can always control the threshold (u/l limit and d/l limit) to avoid your whole bandwidth being fully occupied by the BT program. I often start the program before I went to bed and most of the time on the next morning, I would have download the full game vid already.

Yes I did!! Thank you so much. I have it sitting right here actually. :) I am trying to figure out how to hang it at work without everyone getting on my case about it. I need someone to install my cork board so they don't have to complain if I sticky it to the wall.

Thats the one I used to use except even when I set the limits and I only see my total u/l d/l is like 30-40 it makes my network come to a crawl and sometimes just shuts it down all together.

utorrent is good. won't hog system resources (your computer's resources) as much as azureus and others.

but so far as network connection? any torrent application will kill your connection if your connection can't handle the upload rate you're set to (ie your pipes can't handle the bandwidth). that's likely your problem. i think utorrents minimum setting is 25k.

iirc azureus you can set upload rate to whatever you want, but by consequence you also limit your download speed. that and azureus kills ram and cpu if you're doing other things on the box.

    hope that helps ;/

what kind of connection do you have?

    a cable line?

my residential cable line gets overloaded when the upload is at 38-40K+

thats why it takes so long to get the big files....Im serving to hundreds of people at the same time, and my upload pipe can only handle so much

I have DSL and Comcast. Most of the time I use cable and wife uses DSL. I'm NOT complaining about your seeding speeds or anything. Everytime I getone of your torrents the speed is quite high Just looking a good program really.

Then you may want to consider lower the limits more. My upload can go over 60K sometimes and I can still surf the net via another computer (sharing the same bandwidth) smoothly.

Or perhaps you could change your practice a bit? Like I said, download the files during off hours? R2K's BT site is so famous now so there are often dozens of clients downloading his vid as soon as it is released. There wasn't enough seed to balance the load during these early hours (since the vid release) so you may want to wait perhaps 8 hours later to start your job? :)

[Edit:] Oh I see your reply to R2K already. But seriously, BT generates I/O to your harddisk hence your PC's performance deemed to be interrupted when it takes place. If you could spare another PC, you can surf or do your other tasks there.

It's alright, by golly you can derail your own thread every once and a while, its your god given right for all the hard work you put in.

I have "almost" had my hands on two of them... laptops I mean. Unfortunately people keep needing to take them home from work for "actual work". They don't understand watching the Rockets can be work too. ;)

I didn't even get to watch the spurs game live. I was watching the UK game

Begin rant: which don't even ask me about tonights UK game.. it was horrible (at least Tubby didn't lose to teams like freaking Gardner Webb???? I'm ready to send Billy G back to Texas - and they lost like this on his 48th birthday no less) :End useless Rant

last night and it ran into the beginning of the Rockets game, so I was catching up the whole time. I finished about a half hour after the game ended.

I was like screaming for someone to talk to when Chuck got hit in the eye, fyi. So just know I miss yall too!! :)
