This is the Kevin McHale speech to the Rockets to end practice.

Here is Kevin McHale speaking after practice about who has been impressive in camp. I said on Twitter that he raved about Jordan Hill, and he did, but it was not about dominating guys or anything -- he focused on how hard he works in practice and how coachable he's been.

Here is more of the post-practice post-work with Hasheem Thabeet.

Edit: Also, here are some of the comments after the practice by Luis Scola and Kevin Martin. Scola's positive attitude really is impressive (this is a guy that loves life ... he goes out touring in every city he travels to) and Martin's was better than it was on Friday.

Mchale looks like he gonna really work these guys til they drop. I like how he tried to get Scola involved in the end to make him feel a part of this team again.

Thanks a million Clutch the Man...

I like how they are starting from the VERY BEGINNING, with Thabeet. No need for him to learn anything other than the simple stuff, to go with his defense... He is FREAKING HUGE!

Sometimes I just can't get over how big and ripped Hasheem is. I mean he is legitmately 7-3/7-4, and 285lbs, and completely ripped... Ridiculous...

Thabeet looks really fluid shooting the hook with his left. Seems a bit more awkward going with his right hand.

Either way... potential is there, he just has to be willing to use it!

    Great post, Clutch! Thx!

It seems like McHale is really taking the time out to work with Hasheem. I think this is a God sent gift to have McHale here to work with Thabeet. He will definitely get an opportunity to play under the new leadership.

How does KMart get so tired after running? He only weights 10 lbs, can't take that much energy to move that little weight around.

I wonder what the rotation would be come game time..

I admit, I thought Jordan Hill is probably our most sucky young player (in terms of performance and potential - Hasheem's potential is THAT high for me) but McHale's words have been encouraging.

Hearing McHale's speeches and interviews are so much more refreshing than Adelman's.

Would destroy his confidence if the Rockets Amnesty him. I'm pulling for him though.

Also, McHale has a gangster lean when he walks lol (I'm sure its just due to his injuries in the past)

Is Martin into practice again now, or is he still bummed out?

Hasheem is making himself shorter. He squats down too far down and that's one reason he's too low with the ball when he turns. I know it's hard to post up on someone much shorter, but he's still going too far down. Yao is taller and i don't think he went that low.

I think a lot of his movements go too far because he's trying to stabilize himself and can't. Has the staff said they wan't to bulk him up and/or get him to add some strength?

    Great stuff, as always.

Thabeets's moves are improving but his hook is still the same. He should be getting full arm extension at release but he is still bending. That kills accuracy as well as a better chance to get blocked
