    Valenciunas(sp) started a run while being guarded by Capella and smith. I don't think he's defensively ready for center yet, probably much better to let him play weak side help/blocker. The good thing is he's still super young and if dmo can put on weight and improve on defense I'm sure this kid can.

    That being said, he makes pirigoni not look horrible, and I don't think you have to worry about him fumbling passes around and missing like you get with Dorsey.

    Calling a guy to be the next star whose the only one can duplicate Dream's move when he was scoreless and -22 PER is just as ridiculous as the posters crowning Capela to be the Rockets C for the next 10 years after one game.

    I don't know if he should replace Dorsey for the playoffs, but you definitely have to seriously consider it for next season. Those raw physical tools are something else. Just needs to put on a little bulk and work on his FTs.

    Also, I want to see Capela in the dunk contest next year!

    It is going to be huge for Capela's development to have point guards like Jet and Prig (especially Prig) on the floor with him.

    Immense potential.....immense. He may not be a young Hakeem, but he is no Minute Boll either. With muscle and skill training he could be a major player.

    Is there gonna be room for him on the playoff roster?

    One thing I noticed in that highlight reel from last night that he also displayed in the Lakers game a couple months ago was how quick his feet are defensively. He can actually go out on the perimeter and stay in front of a guard. That's unbelievable for a guy his size.

    How 'bout this for a comparison: Chris Bosh without the offense

    Eh?

    Capela is about a half-inch shorter but with a half-inch longer wing span. Bosh had a better vertical but I can't find Capela's recent verticals, DraftExpress only has some from 2013.

    He will be in the playoff roster by default, there isn't much competition.

    13 men rosters : Bev is out, and there is no sign that KJ can be a contributor to this team in any form, any way at this moment.

    His best qualities are his hands (kawaii leonard hands) and his length. Been watching this guy all year... he's like a jerry rice the way he catches passes and rebounds.

    capella is not going to be on the playoff roster. hell be back in the d-league once the playoffs start. and the playoffs consist of 12 man rosters not 13

    Whiteside is a headcase. We still don't know if he can last as a pro player. Capela doesn't have this baggage.

    DeAndrea Jordan is the closest comparison, a guy with freakish hop and athleticism, great on the board and shot blocking, monster dunks, and yeah not being able to hit a FT to save his life.

    Reminds me of a young Carl Landry (pre-injury). That guy had mad hops and would dunk on everyone. Very exciting to see it here again too.

    The D-League has no doubt helped with his development, but he is still mostly raw talent at this point.

    It doesn't have to take 2 years, though. Give him a summer here playing against some good bigs along with more personal attention from Hakeem (and McHale) and he might be ready to contribute next season.

    He totally lacks a post-up game and no mid-range jump shot like Hakeem had.

    One of the cons listed in his draft preview was that he was hesitant to "mix it up" in the paint. That's a lack of confidence due to lack of upper body strength. He shouldn't bulk up too much but something similar to what Jones has done will help. You can't have a post game without being willing to fight for position.

    UMMM...if Capela played 40 minutes he would've had around 15-20 points and at least 10-12 rebounds. Not sure what else he needs to learn in the D-League he can't learn on the bench with Hakeem during practice.
