Haha, that's awesome.

I thought, at first, it was a fan made bash video for Nash. Always getting hurt or something (though, to think of it, I can't remember the last time he missed a significant amount of time), but then Bell comes in (Amare would have been a better choice).

I suppose the Rockets can't afford a 60 Million dollar man since we have so many guys get hurt. Spreads that 60 thin. Tmac and Yao together, with all the injuries and busted dreams, have easily racked in the 500 Million dollar range.

Typically, Earth Day does not hold much significance in the NBA player's life.

Steve Nash is not the typical NBA player.

Nash unveiled his second foray into filmmaking to commemorate the day Tuesday. After becoming the first mainstream athlete to produce his own commercial last year, Nash and his film production company, Meathawk, posted his second Nike viral commercial Tuesday.

The Sixty Million Dollar Man, posted on youtube.com and searchable with the title and his name, plays on the wealth of his contract and mirrors the intro to the 1970s show, The Six Million Dollar Man. Nash's body shatters on a fall to the court and the familiar saying, "Gentleman, we can rebuild him" is heard.

"It's me instead of Steve Austin, a basketball player instead of a test pilot," said Nash, whose voice is used. "It kind of plays up all the injuries I've taken.

"It's really true to the original. It's a play on recycling a man and then a recycled shoe."

It promotes Nash's Trash Talk shoe, the only high-performance shoe to be made of manufacturing waste. Nash has worn the shoe since February but Nike produced only 5,000 pairs for sale.

Another opportunity to pursue his post-career goal of independent moviemaking was as important to Nash, whose 2007 Training Day commercial is approaching 500,000 views. Nike gave him $30,000 to make that one and offered to do this one on a $50,000 budget, which was not close to enough for the idea that Nash and his cousin, director Ezra Holland, had for Nash as a cyborg.

"It's over $1 million to make that thing properly and to make it not look like a home video," said Nash, who has guest appearances by Amaré Stoudemire as a scientist and Raja Bell as the commissioner. "We showed people our idea, and people in the industry loved it."

Meathawk, Nash's company, enlisted industry fixtures to volunteer their services to keep an effort with $1 million worth of services to a $90,000 cost, he said.

"The first one was great because it was my first leap into filmmaking," Nash said. "It was really cool, and I really liked it because it was different in its own way. This one is just a total departure. It's got a lot of special effects. It's more of a concept piece."

"Filmmaking, obviously, with my production company, is a passion of mine and the environment . . . so to put the two together is fun," Nash said.
