its pretty obvious royce is going to need to work on developing his left hand; whenever he is facing up and wants to attack the hoop its the same stutter step\hesitation dribble going to the right.
saw it in college, summer league and now dleague. and its a good quick move, but when he tries anything going left the defender is right there and you can tell he doesnt have the same ability going that way.

The more I watch, the more it seems like 80% of his game is flash. It's very impressive to do that for a big man but it's not going to fly in the league. Crap ton of turnovers and bad decisions, and like you mentioned, his left hand is very poor.

He's definitely a project and needs to work on multiple things, though I think his talent base is about where I thought it would be.

He did lead the team in plus/minus, flawed as that stat might be.

Kinda seeing issues with Royce White that are similar to Terrence Williams. Royce has his "style set" he plays within. Same kinda stutter step breakdown dribbles. Its crisp and flashy, but not polished.

A temperamental kinda game based on what "moves" him, though not all the plays are necessary. At times he gets a little celebratory wanting to see a nice pass finished rather than getting to his position.

It doesnt mask over the obvious fundamental weaknesses he has. Like shooting touch, taking some of the "T-Mac" shortcuts at times, overcomplicating a play other times, not being so ball dominant, and of course defense and keeping his body in shape.

There is some SUBSTANCE to his game though, more than T-Will and he hustles more than T-Mac. He's got good court vision. Player's probably LIKE playing with him cuz (when he's not turning it over) he'll make the game easier for them, give them a chance to be in a highlight play. Shows willingness to rebound on both ends.

Royce isnt the type thats getting the flying tip dunks 2 handed, his game isnt aerial. He has the Anthony Mason package (Senior not junior. Don't hate on Mase, he was an ALL-STAR once). Royce has LOTS of work to do though.

It's pretty obvious the guys aren't used to playing with him which will of course take time. They don't expect his passes at all many times.

What's impressive is that he makes such an impact on the game even with average numbers. Being able to take the ball coast-to-coast makes him such a threat.

It looks like he's carrying about 10 lbs too many, and shedding it will probably do wonders for his finishing and explosiveness. He looks a little lackadaisical, but that's probably due to rust as well.

    Still an incredibly unique talent.

Thanks for showing his missed shots so we can have a better understanding of his shot selection.

No problem! Saw your comment on the other thread and thought it was a good idea.

One thing I thought of when watching all your videos. There are no replays in most cases, is it that the D-League broadcast doesn't show any? Would be nice to see replays of highlight plays.

being in shape will make a big difference. Need to give him MORE time lol. He can be considered a project right now. Depends how he handles the rest of the way [mentally]

Yeah, the D-League RARELY shows any replays. It's a shame really. Otherwise I would put them in the videos.

Ah that's a shame, but your videos are great nonetheless, thanks for the effort. :)

True... But scoring isn't the Rockets issue.

He looks flabby, overweight, out of shape, slow. He can't shoot worth a lick. He keeps attempting "fancy" behind the back passes.

Other than that, I guess he looks alright...

IMO, his shoot selection is good.
He just don't have the shooting touch.

I guess he wants to totally dominate the Dleague with his fancy antics
