A talented a young Rockets squad finally got the pieces around Dream that he could trust and finally allowed the Rockets to make it past the first round of the playoffs (since 87). Yeah we beat the Clippers, yes that squad was decent with Larry Brown as coach. Maybe next year's squad will be the one that takes that step into the right direction. Note the Kenny Smith vs Ron Harper/Mark Jackson matchup Note the Kenny Smith speed, decision making and dunking ability Note how Dream gets 4 people around him in the paint and still scores Bullard! Bullard! Bullard! Pick and Roll with OT. Unstoppable! and of course you know who.
damn dream was swarmed in the paint with all 5 defenders and still finished the play. and talk about two badass put-backs by dream. whew, those were great days.
How many moves did Hakeem have? He was arguably the best post player ever which is even more impressive when you consider he was smaller than most centers.
good year. you could see it coming together. i went with a group of friends to watch the rockets/sonics game 7 on TV at the Summit. we left so disappointed, but i told them all the rockets would be in the nba finals "next year." i flipping hated mark jackson in this series. i went late to my last final of my freshman year of college because i was watching this game and listening to it in my car outside the building where my test was.
Bull with a block! I think that was the only one he ever got! And Kenny kills me with the way he shoots 3pt shots. He gets all of his body into it, and looks like a spring. Again though, this reminds me just how reliable Hakeem was in the paint. No one dominates that way anymore. Put that many people around Yao, and he'll turn it over.
Simply amazing .. Bullard and Maxwell were such as dead eye sharpshooters. That Maxwell long three shot was unbelievable.
Oh watching the Rockets playoff games in college with fellow Rockets fans, those were the days! and blaming your bad grades on them when they lose
Yeah but atleast Yao is among the best post players in the league. Hopefully he can stay healthy and continue the tradition of great Rockets centers.
The Dream was an awesome player. He had so many ways to score and the Dream shake is the best mover ever, that move alone has been tried to be duplicated and I have seen variations of it but none like the Dream's.
Dream makes Yao look like Shawn Bradley. In these days basketball was more real in terms of how much teh players cared in trying to win. Now that guys are getting paid so much and the business has expanded a lot of it looks fixed. Even if it is not fixed it just isn't the same competitive wise.
