The original Twin Towers. Imagine having two athletic, defense oriented players. The total package that complement each other. A pity that injuries cut their era short. Dream became a legend while Ralph just became a foot note in history. :( :(

Absolutely ridiculous that a player that size can handle the ball and run the fast break so well.

He was one of the promising players during those years. That accident during the finals in 1986 were He hit his head on the Boston Garden floor was the turning event of his career. He seem to be a different player after wards leading to his trade to Golden State for Floyd and Joe Barry Caroll.

    7:14 mark :)

they show that Ralph Sampson ESPN classics where they have Dream talking about him on once in awhile.

they asked Dream how Ralph would be in today's game
Dream "he would score on them all dey!"

We really should have like a throwback week or something during the offseason on ClutchFans, would be nice to reminisce on the good times.

7'4" and you should see the lowlights video of him trying to run the fast breaks where the coach would be pulling out his hair. :D These highlight videos make players seem legendary, but if you watched and followed the players back then, you'd know how much it drove people nuts when Sampson would rather be a PG than be a post-up player. :)

Ralph Sampson was so utterly dominant in college and his first 2 years in the NBA. He was a very skilled 7 plus footer and his game was truly ahead of his time. What a shame that injuries ruined what should have been a hall of fame career.

Does anybody have entire games on their pc from that time? Once R2K (i think) shared game 1 and 2 of the 86 finals, but besides that, does anybody have those games? Or know were I can find them?

Incredible how skilled Ralph was before the injuries. Played like Chris Webber (before his injuries) except 6 inches taller. Wow.

Can't you just imagine teams playing vs Ralph and Dream and thinking: "holy crap we have to play against THEM?"

I grew up watching the Rockets since I was in Mexico. I might be their #1 fan in my family and in my office. I think Dream got most of his moves from Ralph or vice versa. Anyway, thank you for this video, tinman.

What made Akeem hit that dude straight up on his face at 7:15? The microphones on the cameras caught it... it was a vicious right swing. :( I didn't like that at all.

What could've been... What could've been...

Sampson in his prime was amazing. In the 1985 All Star game Pat Riley put him at point guard and he ended up being the MVP of the game.
