Hmmm.. what's interesting is... The pimp doesn't actually attack the man. He just walks up to him angrily. The karate guy strikes first. Is that legal? If someone walks up to you in a rage, does that constitute an attack and allow you to strike first? -- droxford
Self defense. If the karate guy said, "stop, or else" and he kept coming what else could he do? Let him punch him first? If a guy has a gun and threatens to shoot you do you wait for him to shoot first?
I don't think the comparison of a gun threat and fighting works in this situation. If the martial arts expert is of a Black Belt level, he probably would have been able to block/parry/deflect/evade a first punch thrown by the pimp without much difficulty.
This I know but is there a certain point on the neck where you can hit somebody and it will have an effect like the one seen?
I didn't even look at the clip but I know what it is. I've seen it on tv. That guy was in town teaching a karate class to cops. He knew what he was doing.
Did anyone catch the interview with that karate guy afterwards? "Take a look at what I'm wearing, people. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it. Last off, my students will learn about self respect. You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night? Forget about it! "
"After one week with me in my dojo, you'll be prepared to defend yourself with the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, and the wisdom.... of a man. "
I'll let you know in a bit... Today's lesson in my class is: Act like a pimp and get karate chopped. As soon as I find the spot, I'll post it up.
I wonder why the cops didn't go out there to break up the pimp/ho fight before the karate guy took over. I'm guessing they told the karate teacher to go out there and show them some techniques in a real life situation.
