Bill doesn't like it when he can't shout down or turn of the mike of his debate opponent. There was one point that I thought he was walking out. Brilliant.

It's amazing how people can watch something and get completely different impressions. Dave kept asking him questions, and then not even listening to the answers, he would just interrupt him. If you're just going to do that, why even have the guy on your show? You can just have a monologue and say whatever you want, not bring O'Reilly out there when you don't even care what he's going to say.

Considering O'Reilly routinely does that on his excuse of a show, I really have no sympathy for the guy at all. He's an ass to anyone who disagrees with him on his tv show, so if Dave's a jerk then so be it.

Don't you realize how childish that is? I don't watch O'Reilly's show, so I don't know how he acts there, but if you say "Ooh, that damn O'Reilly, I'm gonna put him on my show and interrupt HIM!" it's really petty and just shows you sinking to his level, if that is indeed the way that he behaves on his own show.

Letterman was just replicating the O'Reilly show

only difference, on Letterman, the Mike was open.

on his show, Oreilly's staff controls the mike, so when Bill goes on a rampage the guest's mike are turn off. that's gives Oreilly a decided home-rigged advantage, making his guests (who holds a different opinion) look tongue-tied as Bill spews artiticial facts.

it was childish that letterman wouldnt let him get his point across, every time he asked bill a question he had an answer for it but then dave would just poke fun an disregard his statement....letterman scrwed himself at the end also by saying nobody could understand oreilly and thats true bc so many americans are so uninformed about whats going on in the world and just listen to the media who only highlights the negatives....bill made a great point, we made a mistake by going in, yes, but we also also captured sadaam, and to just pull out and leave would make things worse and give iran imense power, too many people think like letterman that the solution is easy and its all black and white, when really its much more complicated

Jeffster, I suggest you watch the O'Reilly show. You will then know why Dave was being an ass to him.

Why listen to Bill when his "facts" are wrong. Bill talked about Ansar al Islam being their in cooperation with Saddam which of course is wrong, and they had to be in the area not under Saddam's control, becuase Saddam was opposed to them, and would have shut them down.

I was jokingly exaggerating by saying he only used one fact. I do think most of what they were talking about was political philosophies and attitudes toward the issues rather than an examination of facts.

    But yeah, it's no biggy.

But my point is that it doesn't matter. If Letterman thinks O'Reilly is an ass, then just say so, don't invite him on your show and act the same way. I have no desire to watch O'Reilly's show. I've caught a few minutes of it a couple times and it was always boring. Most of those "talking head" shows are pretty boring. I actually liked Dennis Miller's show on CNBC but apparently I was one of only like 5 people watching it. :p
