A short video of what Hill had to go through to recover, posted on YaoMingMania.

There might be hope, but not when you consider the amount of times that Yao has had a terrible injury!

This is just as sad. Grant Hill was in pace to become a hall of famer... then those dark days in Orlando.

If what he had was the same injury Yao has now then it makes the situation more despairing.

I'm leaning towards yao's injury being nothing like grant hill's.

    lol, YaoMingMania still exists?

I figured it woudl have congenital web architecture problems, be overwhelmed by traffic literally breaking its structure down to its core, and, despite intensive maintenance, slowly be available for fewer and fewer days each year before it went defunct...

Yes, it still exists, but today was a sad day for it (I started it and have been running for 8 years). I knew the day was coming, but just not this soon. But I still hold out hope that maybe through Grant Hill's experience Yao can do the unthinkable and try to muster up enough willpower to go through what it takes to overcome THIS injury as well, but at a much cheaper cost that would be palatable to the Rockets. But I wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't and decided to retire. A human can be tested only so much. He has now surpassed Ilgauskas with this new injury and he's in unchartered territory, except for maybe Bill Walton. I hope that Yao has a conversation with Walton before making his decision.

So has it been confirmed that Yao is going to need surgery again?

hey I joined YMM a LONG time ago, then one day a few years ago I realized I had changed email addresses and YMM no longer had my valid email address, so I went and updated my email address to my current email address, which is on Yahoo. I didn't know that YMM prohibited Yahoo email addresses, so once I did this, YMM told me that my account was invalid and banned me. I couldn't even PM anyone on the board anymore because my email was invalid lol just wanted u to know bout a problem I had

He secretly has a night job as Zain Bhikha to fall back on. So not as much worry as Yao, who only has owner of the Shanghai Sharks as a backup career.
