When I compare the introduction on ABC, ESPN, and TNT, they all just suck compared to the NBA on NBC intro. Hehe, bring the NBA back to NBC Rocket Zoom

So weird. I lived in Houston for a couple of years during the 90s (reason why I'm a Rockets fan). Depressing that now that's something of the past, "defined the NBA of the 90s"... here I was thinking it was still as good and on NBC! When did it all change?
When ABC decided to throw out the baby with the bathwater and go with new theme music when they got the NBA contract and toss out John Tesh's famous intro music. Probably the sole and defining contribution of John Tesh's otherwise lame career was the creation of the "NBA on NBC" theme music.
TNT isnt all that bad for an intro. Its a bit hip, but thats just a sign of the times. ABC's intro can go to hell though.
I can see the Finals Intro right now. Fireworks going off with Pussycat Dolls running around with team jerseys on, MIMS singing this is why im hot at halftime.

That was awesome. I still remember watching that on TV. I think the NBA on TNT is the closest. It's not as classy as the NBC broadcast but certainly more entertaining.
