Here's the link. The guy was unstoppable. Too strong and too good.

I know how Bill talks about Kevin Martin making three pointers look like layups...
When I watch Melo and he shoots a three, I automatically assume its going in. He's the greatest shooter in the game today.

Certainly the prettiest shot, in my opinion. I still think Ray Allen and Steve Nash are the greatest shooters today.

Now you wish he leads the Knicks' charge for defense. Many times in the first game he doesn't even bother running back on defense.

He's a ridiculously great scorer, but that's it. For him to take the Knicks to the next level, he has to be a more all-around player on both ends.

It's going to take a new Knicks' coach to make Melo put out on defense. Maybe D'Antoni will get fired this season or next summer and Woodson takes over.

Or maybe Woodson can get through to him as an assistant.

Melo said bluntly that he would lead the charge on defense before this season. He didn't do that in game 1. No coach is going to change that demeanor if he never had the mentality to do it himself in the first place.

Look at TMac, under JVG. I'm a huge TMAC fan, but even JVG couldn't get TMAC to play consistent defense, and he had more potential than Melo.

The Knicks' problem is defense; that's why they got chandler. And yet Melo still doesn't get it, nor does Amare.

The entertainment value of Craig Sager's suits is outstanding.

You know he had that thing laying on his bed thinking to himself 'Oh yeah, I'm gonna show them the Christmas suit to kick off the season.'

But yeah, Melo torched them, the Knicks should be fun to watch this year with Chandler's added help on defense and emotional leadership.

You're insane. Melo's career 3P% is only .322. He's about as automatic from the three-point line as Trevor Ariza.

Nope. Novak still has the prettiest looking shot.

We're not talking about Offensive versatility right?

Novak's jumpshot seems more fundamental overall, but Melo's is more aesthetically pleasing to me. I like that little fade and the not quite square-to-the-basket body position.

Melo is the 3rd best scorer in the league (behind Durant and Lebron) and a top 10 player.

I'd just wish he'd play some damn defense.

If the Knicks hired Pop or Mike Brown, Melo would play defense. End of story. One of JVG's big problems is he was too easy on McGrady's defense and shot selection.

The real question to me is who comes after D'Antoni and how much leeway he has to crack down on the two stars.

Drawing comparisons between the way two guys play the game of basketball doesn't mean you're saying one is as good as the other. It's about size, body type, shot selection, shooting form, athleticism, the way a player moves around the court, etc. In that sense, Marcus' big preseason game clearly resembled Carmelo quite a bit.

Even Marcus himself makes the comparison.

Guy's game is perfectly suited for end of game situations. He can get his shot any time he wants in any half court situation and wants to take it too.

Still can't consider him a top 5 player because of his defense and playmaking. He has the potential to be even better than he is.

he needs to play better D if he wants his team to be taken as a title contender. Offensively their's no question the Knicks are great. Lot of Defensive quesitons tho
