No question these guys kicked ass and took names back in the day. I've never listened to KISS and neither do I know much about the band other than that they wore costumes. Were they a gimmick band from the start? Sort of like Insane Clown Posse or something?
Gimmick band IMO. they were more famous for their image then their music. other then beth and Rock n Roll All Nite, none of their songs or albums were memorable. btw, yeah you got me.

It still amazes me how they panicked when disco became huge and did a song like "I Was Made For Loving You". Talk about jumping the shark. (Even though I actually liked the song at the time.)
Music "Business" KISS is a fun band. Lots of albums, good anthems. fun music. I am a big fan; hence my moniker.
While KISS is mostly pegged as only a good live band (which is true, they are amazing live), I have all their albums and enjoy their music. They have lots of good tunes. Not that you would ever hear them on the radio or MTV.

I'm over the whole Rick rolled thing, but I have to admit that video was hilarious. As far as KISS is concerned, I think I speak for a lot of us who are in our mid to late 30's when I say that KISS was the first rock band I got into as a kid. Double Platinum was the first full album I ever owned (bought it at Don's Record Shop in Bellaire). I was Gene Simmons one year for Halloween and I was in the KISS Army. Now, Gene Simmons just really gets on my nerves. He takes himself WAY too seriously and seems to think that it's still 1977 and everyone should bow down to him. Just really annoying.
