Thank God he is off the air. Worst talk show host ever.

Now the torch is passed to one of the funniest guys ever. Conan O'Brien will 0wn late night again! And I won't have to wait til almost midnight to watch him!

    Can't wait for Monday night!!

Fallon and Kimmel....so he's not the worst ever.

I liked Leno. Comfortable late night show, just...I guess mainstream. And I was fine with that. I do love Conan though and cannot wait until Monday.

Leno was the best ever IMO, and don't television ratings have him as being one of the best?

Can't stand Conan at all ... Maybe its because I don't enjoy jr high school humor.

Jay's humor is not for everyone.. I've been a big fan of Jay since the early days of the tonight show with Bradford Marsellis... He's one of those comedians that doesn't need to rely on vulgar material just to get a heckled laugh... My second fav late night host is Craig Ferguson

Not a big Leno fan, but the end was a nice touch. I will be watching Conan.

I always preferred Leno over Letterman. I don't remember the Tonight Show before Leno...17 years! It's crazy to think that someone born when Leno took over would now be graduating high school.

I can't wait to see the Leno Conan cat fight. I think one of them has to fail being on the same network, fighting for the same guests, being located in the same town, and drawing from the same audience. Leno would have been better off going to ABC and going opposite Conan.

For a someone who does sketch improvised comedy, Fallon can't talk. He's not Tim Hardaway or Isiah Thomas bad, but pretty darn close.

Yeah, that guy has some of the worst delivery in the world. I know he's still new and everything, but man is his monologue bad.

I think Leno is funny, and I think Conan is funny, so I guess I'm in pretty good shape. Fallon is god awful. Since it took Conan like three years when he started to finally be funny, we may see Fallon for a long time. Kimmel is way better than Fallon. He wins the Jimmy Wars.

Still not sure why NBC wanted to can Leno so bad. He's only 59 and has finished a dominate #1 in late night for nearly his entire run. I'm sure Leno could have went another 6 years strong. At that point there could have been someone else to take over. It's about the only win NBC can still claim. They can only go down from here. I like Conan but i'm not sure how he'll play on "The Tonight Show". It will be different...

They would have lost Conan then. This was the only way they could keep him.

Maybe finally The Tonight Show will be watchable again. To go from Carson to Leno was pretty unfortunate.

The way Leno screwed Carson and Letterman was also unfortunate.

Leno had a nice ending with the kids part last night, and I am sure he is a good guy, but I'm hoping to get excited about the Tonight Show again for the first time in decades.

Hell, the brief time Conan was on with him last night he kicked ass.

These statements are contradictory. What was one of Leno's bits on his big finale last night?

White Trash Theater. With basically a Youtube video of a woman throwing a beer bottle at her son.

Not jr high at all. :D

Kind of, not really. Fallon replaced Conan. Conan is replacing Leno. Leno is getting a new show at 9 o'clock that's going to eat 1/3 of NBC's weekly prime time programming.

Conan could not even beat the Drew Carey show guy anymore. He will be dominated by Letterman, which sucks because Letterman has all but given up. He doesn't even try anymore. He should quit. That would have been awesome for him to quit and Conan move from NBC to CBS.

I might trying watching the Tonight Show again now the Leno is gone. He was awful IMO. I don't see how anyone under the age of 40 thought anything he said was funny.

Conan is the best. I hardly ever got to watch his show because I have to get up early for work so I'm excited to have him on at a decent time. I find him to be much more clever than Leno ever was.

And to think, if Joan Rivers were a little less b****y and Arsenio Hall had never booked Louis Farrakhan, this debate would be very different.

Very little to argue about here one way or another: most talk show hosts are too dull to be good actors, too nice or normal to be great comedians and after a few years of 8-figure paychecks, too comfortable or risk averse to try. And at the 10:35 pm slot they're product is watered down to what's familiar, fun and acccessible. Your main broadcast competitors are sitcom reruns of cancelled shows; and your target audience are viewers who have already endured prime-time programming and local news every weeknight: probably not in the mood for brilliance, daring or creativity.

You wanna know who's gonna be filling these slots 10-15 years from now?Ryan Seacrest and Carson fricking Daly (bet on it).
