well usually the posters say something like "Hakeem should train.." I didn't do that, when Kobe and Dwight ask for Hakeem's help, then it should {Insert Player} should ask Hakeem for help He doesn't have to help anybody, but it's not about him, it's about the love of the game
Brought a tear to my eye watching that!! I forgot what how blessed we were to watch him work in the low post for all those years!!
and he's still the greatest Rocket of all time. ALL TIME = FOREVER. It could be the year 9999, and Hakeem's name and number will be associated with the Rockets. comprende?
Oh definitely Brad Miller Jordan Hill can't dribble, PP isn't a center, and Brad Miller is old. I vote we trade Lowry for Conley and Thabeet. Then everyone on CFs pool our money and BEG Olajuwon to develop Thabeet.
It feels strange to say this, but I think the player on the Rockets whose game is most modeled after Dream's is Scola. All those fakes and spins with the pivot foot planted are very much like Hakeem. Of course, Scola has about half the athleticism Dream had.
its amazing how many times the commentator's would say "hakeem AGAIN" "olajuwon AGAIN" "the dream AGAIN"
Man great memories! What stands out the most is how Dream never held the ball once he got it in the post. He immediately went to his move in one motion. Just too quick for the double to get there or simply splitting it. Best ever.
Word. A few guys who could be way more dangerous on the ball scorers if they had some of Dream's post skills: Al Jefferson Carl Landry David West Carmelo Anthony Paul Pierce Marquis Daniels Dwayne Wade Andre Miller All of these guys satisfy the following: Some existing back-to-the-basket game Enough of a jumper that defenders can sag way off when faced up, and must also respect the turnaround j The agility and quickness to execute
Oh my, be still my beating heart. What I found interesting in that clip was that Mutumbo's defense on Olajuwon was very good, never allowed him a move towards the basket. Always made Olajuwon work for his points (fadeaways or step out hook shots). Back on the original question. I think both Hill and PP should ask for training. Hill need to work on his footwork, and PP needs to get some moves in the paint!
And pay no respect to the future Rockets organization? Saddening. You're stuck in the past. As of now Hakeem is the Greatest Rocket of all time. You do not know the future, there might be someone better down the road. And I bet you'll be the first person to deny it when he comes along.
Lol anyone would be more dangerous if they had dream's post skill. Now, somebody that i'd like to see with dream's post skills (and attitude) is Demarcus Cousins. Man would that be something incredible.
