He had the same problem Evil had.....parachute deployed too early.... That and his car disinigrated. DD
That's what he gets for using an American made car to perform a death defying stunt. He shoulda used a Toyota or a Honda...
Even if he was going 500 mph, I don't think he could have made it over the river. This was hilarious to watch though. Even if he landed on the other side, his car would take so much more damage on the ground. He prob. would have been killed instantly.
didn't they have engineers in the 70's? A million bucks spent so he could fly 50yards into the river. What a dumbass.
I for one am shocked that a rocket powered Lincoln Continental traveling at 200+ MPH disintegrated in mid-air ~ hell one of things will disintegrate at 110 mph on the freeway.
Dude...had he made it over the river then it would have just been a million bucks so he could fly over a river. He made the decision to do it. The fact hat it failed....oh well, it was still one bad-ass jump attempt!
I failed to be impressed about this moronic attempt ... So someone shelled out 1 $mil so some dumb azz and his cohorts could spend months, years building a car and a ramp and drove up the thing ... Wah hooo..... If I was out of work, could not earn my living flipping burgers, I'd attempt the same for half the money !
Of course they did, didn't you see the wings on that thing? I don't know how they managed to screw it up with those types of modifications made to the car.
Seriously, why are you so upset. This guy tried it, and that ramp was seriously large and the car was moving. It was cool...no need to hate on an impressive failure of a stunt. It actually reminded me of Mario Kart on the N64 in the castle stage where you go off that big jump.
Wow, that was pure 70's celluloid gold. I can't believe that after a cool mil being spent in 70's dollars, all they could afford was that POS yellow pimp-mobile with wings!!! Awesome clip.
