Two completely separate stories, but I figured I'd throw in them into one thread.

Famitsu revealed a new PS3 game called Tokyo Jungle. Some info below:

(a lot of different stories in the link, but I just grabbed some of the ones for Tokyo Jungle)
This other site has a small scan:

Think there were some others if you search (I forgot where they were). Not much in them IIRC, although there was a screen of a Pomeranian I think. Not sure how the final product will turn out, but I love the idea. Kind of what I wanted Afrika to be.

Also, Sega has a new teaser site up for a mystery (well I guess it is a mystery?) game:

Don't think it could be anything other than Valkyria Chronicles though. Just a question of what it will be. VC1 port, a new PSP (or..uh..DS/3DS) game,, or a PS3 (or PS3/360) game. Hoping for that last one, even though I ordered VC2.

VC2 was made for psp because it was a cheaper platform to develop on than the ps3. Maybe it did well enough in japan (though they love psp i think) that theyll bring it back to the home consoles.

While it's wierd they would announce a 3rd right when #2 releases in NA that picture isn't exactly ambiguous.

I think that's only partly true. Part of the reason they made it for the PSP is they wanted to release a sequel quickly. They just put out the anime, and they wanted something to go with it. They could have done it on PS3, but it would have taken longer to complete (and likely miss the time frame they were shooting for). Also some crap about wanting to expand their audience, although I'm never really sure that makes a difference. Anyway, it sounds like the PS3 is still very much in their thoughts with future titles.

Of course, that could mean a VC2 port, but I think it is more likely to be a new game. Or I'm hoping anyway.

VC2 did a bit worse than VC1 in Japan IIRC. They probably don't care about announcing a new one with the NA release since they probably don't expect it to matter much (NA sales likely won't be that high, and we'll still have to wait...assuming we even get the new game). It isn't really all that uncommon, especially when some of these games take 12 months or more to make it overseas (e.g., Yakuza, White Knight Chronicles, etc.). TGS is coming up soon too, so you'll see a lot of stuff like this.

Valkyria Chronicles is one of the best games I've played, but it's definitely not for everyone.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 and the upcoming re-make of Tactics Ogre finally convinced me to buy a PSP, so either way I'll be playing what seems likely to be Valkyria Chronicles 3... like everyone else, I'd certainly prefer it to be on PS3, though.

    Could you elaborate?

I was tempted to buy FFXIII until I heard it was completely linear and dumbed down. I'm considering Demon's Souls, VC and I just FINALLY ordered MetGearSolid 4.

For those with a PS3. Castle Crashers was released Tuesday. It is nothing earth shattering, as far as, game play or cutting edge. But what it is, is fun.

I second this. Castle Crashers is a must-buy. It was probably my favorite 360 exclusive even.

Well VC is turn based (although you can be attacked during your turn in a limited fashion).

Aesthetically it's one of the prettiest games I have seen.

It's definitely not linear, each stage is an open battlefield.
