....or games that you're a little proud to have finished. Got me thinking today ...recently gone back to play Super Return of the Jedi and I'm still stumped, 10 years after I last played it. So what games have you played that were so incredibly difficult you didn't finish, or games that you spent countless hours of frustration to finally beat. Never beaten: 1) Super Return of the Jedi - I thought Empire was a more difficult game except the very last stage in Jedi is damn near impossible. I'm thinking 10 years of gaming would make it seem easy now, but hell no. I still can't get out of the Death Star before it explodes. 2) Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - It's not that this game was incredibly difficult. It's just that I'm not a big fan of boss battles, especially long boss battles, and Metroid always has plenty of those. I loved the first Metroid Prime and of course Super Metroid. But Echoes I couldn't get into as much, and by the time I reach the end, you have to battle three bosses, one right after the other. I didn't have the patience for it and have yet to go back to finish it. 3) Driver - Literally impossible to beat. The only way I did it was using a cheat, and that's after I read that's the only way you could beat it. If anybody actually got the President to the safe point without using a cheat I sure wanna know. I got as close as a few blocks before the enemy cars flipped my limo. 4) Ikaruga - It's not the kind of game I could play hours on end. So it's probably why I haven't beat it. Doesn't help that it's insanely hard either. But it's a lot of fun. 5) Stars Wars: Rogue Squadron II - I have no idea what I was doing wrong but I couldn't get past that moon stage where you gotta rescue the stranded Rebels in the station. I couldn't ever get to them in time, grew impatient with the game and gave up. 6) Super Mario Bros 3 - Not sure if I've beaten it. I got it on my Wii but it keeps erasing my game data, and now I can't remember if I actually beat it or not. I know back in the day I couldn't. I got the final world and couldn't get past the last Ghost House. 7) Super Mario RPG - I just don't like RPGs period. But I was surprised to find myself enjoying this...until I got somewhere near the end. I use up just about all my health beating one boss, and then immediately I have to battle another. Proud to have beaten: 1) Ninja Gaiden Black - Think it took a little bit of luck, but it definitely was one of the harder games I've played and beaten. 2) COD:MW Veteran Mode - Not just a whole level, but just sections of levels..a few of 'em anyway... took several hours to complete. Crazy hard. 3) Super Metroid - Always got stuck when I was kid playing this game. After I bought in on the virtual console, I got through it relatively unscathed...finally!
Proud to have beaten: All resident evils...(except 5, didnt even play) All MW2 spec ops missions 3 stars All Silent Hills Evil Dead - Fist full of boom stick Conkers bad fur day game i couldnt beat.... Man that **** was hard.....
I rented the first Silent Hill when it came out and was very close to finishing it when I had to return. I really want to beat that game someday - I even looked into buying it a couple years ago, but apparently it's super rare and a used copy was about 40 bucks.
Inindo: Way of the Ninja I would keep getting owned by this one boss regardless of who I would choose in my team. Then, I spent a lot of time to just level my guys up so it would be easy. Unfortunately I would run out of time (not a timer but historically if too much time had passed, you couldn't overthrow the empire, so after a certain date (1200 AD?) the game would just end or something like that).
Hate to break it to you but that game is easy, beat COD 2 on Veteran, then we will talk, I broke several controllers playing that game I can't really think of any game that has given me so much difficulty that I have not been able to beat it. Some things I am proud to have beaten -Left4Dead: Got all 1,000 achievements legit, took many many hours and was incredibly difficult but I am now an expert -Turning Point Fall of Liberty: The game is a complete piece of ****, but I beat it on expert. The game was so poorly designed which is what made it so difficult. -Call of Duty 2: This game is the most frustrating ever created. Constantly respawning enemies until you reach a certain point, random checkpoints throughout, respawning into 10 grenades to the point that the only way to continue is to restart the entire level. A giant pain in the ass, but I beat it on veteran
One of the Final Fantasy Games (the one I played had Chocobo races) I couldn't finish it because the only thing left was to win a gazillion races to get the golden chocobo or some crap. I said FFFFFFUUUUU and walked away.
Couldn't beat Home Alone 2 on Nintendo Glover on N64, though I hate that game Diddy Kong Racing Rescue Rangers, Nintendo Mickey’s funhouse Pac-man Mario Proud to have beaten: Jurassic Park on Sega Game Gear – hard to fight a T-rex on foot. Sonic Chaos Sonic 2 Rampage on Nintendo Final Fantasy 7 Final Fantasy 8 Chrono Trigger Xenogears
Almost everything before I got a PS2 and GTA3. I've beaten everything I've played after that. Nintendo games were freakin' hard. Yes, I too had TMNT for the NES. Couldn't get past the 3rd or 4th level.
