Hello all. I am wanting to buy a NBA games for my PS2. I haven't bought a hoops game in a while and I wanted a fun one to play.

I am chosing between the following:

    NBA2k7
    NBA Live 07
    NBA Street Vol. 3
NBA 2007: The Life Vol. 2

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't really have a preference over realistic gameplay or the ability to do 720 degree dunks, just as long as its fun.

    Thanks.

Stay far away from NBA 07 and probably NBA Live.

Both Street and 2K7 are good games. Very different, but a lot of fun.

Could you elaborate why to avoid these, I was actually thinking about Live also when the price goes down...

I actually enjoyed The Life vol2 demo more than nba live 07 and nba 2k7.. and im comparing the nba live and 2k7 full games to The Life demo. I am gonna buy THe Life for my ps3 when it gets a little cheaper, the graphics really suck but the gameplay and controls are really good.

If you have a ps2, here is my opinion.

Ive bought 2k7 and LIve 07
    and they both suck!!!!!!

    2k7 is exactly like 2k6

Live 07: The computer will never substitute for fatigue! Very Lame.

Ive played the demo of "the life 07" on the 360 at best buy and i liked it.

i liked 2K6 more. 2K7 the game is slowed down and it is getting into all the hype of dunking and playing like kobe. 2K6 was more team oriented and it required fundemental basketball rather than just doing a crossover and going in for the dunk with T Mac playing like he was 4 years ago.

FWIW, NBA 07 The Life is not available on the 360 since it is developed by Sony exclusively for Playstation systems (PS2, PSP, PS3). You probably played Live 07 or 2K7 (or even NBA Street Homecourt?). Or that was a PS3 and not a 360.

I'd stick with NBA Street or 2K7. Like Rokkit said, 2 different games, but they're both really fun (Street's gameplay is probably more fun and is easier to get into IMO). I've never played any of Sony's NBA games ("The Life" franchise). Some of the concepts seem interesting, but the gameplay itself always looked terrible to me (pathetic animation, bad graphics, bad AI, not fun at all, etc.).

    2k7 ftw.

Street Vol.2 is much better than Vol. 3. Much cheaper too...

I used to rack up insane combos and one possesion gamebreakers. It's also much harder to do an off the heezay alley oop dunk.

2K7 is still worth it if you've played 2k6, yeah it is the same basically but they inputted a few enhancements that made the game better. I had 2K7 for PS2 and was satisfied with it.

If you're not a realism junky like me than I'd go NBA Street though

I had NBA Street 1 and 2, they were alright, but got boring quick, only so much you can do before it gets repetitive
