Are any of you getting this game today? I haven't seen a lot of reviews about this game. I thought I would post to see what you guys think.

I'm watching a guy play it. Not very impressed, looks like it'd get boring pretty quick, same stuff over and over.

The first Dead Rising was one of my favorite games of all time. The prologue for the sequel shows all kinds of promise. I can't wait to get this game.

The demo has been out for a few weeks now, and it is more of the same yes, but the new 'crafting' feature looks to be a great addition, and there is nothing quite as satisfying as whomping on zombies with a baseball bat with nails in it. I will say, though, the weapns are still way too flimsy. They need to be able to be made more durable.

And I wonder if you can get the mini-chainsaws again..

    damn clown!

    hehehehe

The only thing that I hated about the first game were the stupid survivors, stupid clock, and stupid bosses. Apparently this has not changed except the survivors are a tad less stupid.

I am going to just sit there and bash zombies heads the first go round and ignore everything so I can be super powerful then try to play through and do the story.

I played the first one... got repetitive really quick... and I don't like the fact that all my equipment breaks after like five uses.

I absolutely HATED the first one. The concept was amazing, but the save feature was the WORST ever created. You could only save in a bathroom and there were very few for a mall that size. It became a huge pain in the ass and I never finished it. The subtitle were also way too small and I could never read the messages being sent to me from the janitor guy.

Apparently they addressed the bathroom issue. Now there is a save everywhere from what I heard.

You weren't playing it on an HDtv back then. I remember that being a problem back then that standard tvs couldn't read the words because it was developed on an HDtv. I believe they released a patch.

I dunno. In the prologue, you can only save in a bathroom or when prompted (after a big event). The main difference was that there were 3 save slots instead of just the 1 so it's harder to paint yourself into a corner with your saves.

I read, on IGN I think, that there were a ton of bathrooms and about the save slots.

I kinda wish the game had no point other than getting extra points for killing zombies in interesting ways. Kinda like a Tony Hawk game, except decapitation instead of kickflips.

I got it last night. Played Original on XBOX, have original on Wii and 2 on PS3.

Max - the Wii version is trimmed down (Not near as many undead on the screen) but the ability to swing the wiimote adds to the game. I'd bet that one will be coming, but sometime later.

As for two, I like it. I liked the first. Honestly it seems like the same game with better graphics and AI.

Without spoilers - theres a new reason that pulls you back to the safe house every 24 hours and it makes for some tight timing if you are trying to do everything. Load screens suck. I thought they would have a way around it but, nope. When you are rushing back with survivors, it's painful. Survivors AI is much improved, they fight and keep up with you much better.

I wanted a dead rising for my PS3 - I'm happy with it.

I haven't followed this franchise that closely, but I don't think the Wii game sold particularly well. It had mixed reviews, so I suppose that's not surprising (maybe it was enough given the budget). But I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom decided it wasn't worth it.

Though this is the company that decided not to make a version of the new Street Fighter game for the PC, because even though SFIV PC sold really well (and likely made them a lot of money), some people pirated it. So better to make no money. And no point it releasing it as Steam-only (to help combat piracy) because then not everyone could play it.

Not really interested in Dead Rising 2. Might have picked it up for PC at some point, though I think Capcom pretty much made sure I won't be doing that.
