Video editing software

    So, I need to edit some video, and I can get a copy of Adobe Premiere that fell off the back of a truck, but are there any truly free options?

    I just need to cut multiple shots and add music with some basic fades and text. Nothing fancy.

    Have you tried Windows Live Movie Maker. Its a free download and can do most of what you are asking...i think

    Do you have a Mac? They come with iMovie, which does exactly what you're looking for (and not much more).

    Windows Movie Maker does all the things you said you needed
