*THIS IS NOT MY VIDEO* I post on another board with the guy (Kblaze) that made this video. He's made over 130 mixes, so you've probably seen his work. However he doesn't really put his stuff on YouTube so I went ahead and did it for him. He just completed this video a couple of days ago. He posted some commentary with it as well, so I will include that at the bottom of this post. By the way, he said he enjoyed making this video more than just about any of his others, for whatever that's worth... Download: http://www.sendspace.com/file/g68u4d Is he a lock for the HOF, in your opinion?
14.2 Rebounds per game the last 10 games without Yao, 9-1 record, not only a fitting tribute at the right time but also a sure Hall of famer with all of his basketball and charitable service!
This will definitely fill up the internet quota (50MB) the school has implemented on all laptops, but heck, since this is for Deke!
He'll be in the HOF. His credentials speak for themselves. One of the best defensive players ever. Great humanitarian. This man made history with that upset over the sonics. C'mon now.
Hey I never said he wouldn't. Just transplanting the discussion from another forum, although I can anticipate the responses over here pretty well I think I think he'll get in. Maybe not 1st ballot though. I'll have to see when he actually hangs it up, and then look at who else is eligible.
Nice mix! Hall of Fame, without a doubt. And I bet he will get overwhelming votes, too. Not only has he had a HOF career, he is liked by everyone and gets the humanitarian vote like no other player in NBA history. How many other players have built a hospital for po folks?
Thanks for posting that video ClutchCityReturns. I really enjoyed it. Dikembe is a great man. I heard he originally wanted to become a Medical Doctor and return to his homeland and practice. A great humanitarian. He was recognized a few months ago by Bono of U2 for his good works. A great man- I'm proud he is a Rocket.
excellent- thanks... i started watching the rockets hardcore in 2000 or so, so i really didnt know what mutombo was capable of... thanks!
Great video. To compare with with Alonzo is like comparing a doctor and a patient. Did you guys notice how Deke holds the ball or secure the ball in his hands, before he goes for a slam? He still does it today. I didn't pay attention to it until I saw the video today that he's been doing that since the dawn of his career. I like the way he blocks, it's more emphatic and his body language shows power and authroity which is very embarrasing to the victim. With Yao out, this would be a good year for him to end his career, just like the way MJ made the championship point against the Jazz in his last championship. Again, great video and thanks for sharing.
Deke was throwing elbows back in the day, even on the way down with a rebound, before he hit the floor. He needs a championship to end his career, and I feel the team should deliver. Get it done!
Thanks. Great video. HOF basketball player. Great man. Thanks Deke. Just keep wiggling that finger all the way to the championship.
His finger wagging gets wilder and wilder the longer he stays in the league.. judging by this video, that is. It looks like he starts doing it with his elbows too when he's in the Rockets uni. Anyways, Yao needs a trademark like this too. Like after he does his soft turnaround shot that he does all the time, he needs to do a nice little jig or something. ..that or he can always say "YOU CAN'T F***IN STOP ME!" after every shot
