Man, I wish we could've traded for that #2 pick. I would gladly give up Martin and Bud for this guy.

I know its camera cuts.. but his handles looked GOOD... If he lost that extra weight over the summer and worked on his handles and pull up jumper(hes already a good set shooter), he could easily live up to that 2nd pick..

Oh don't worry... Rick Adelman doesn't play rookies.

He's not gonna be worthy of a 2nd overrall pick. I'm not saying that they made a mistake picking him in that draft but hes not gonna be a superstar or star imo. Ceiling is maybe an allstar appearance but I just don't see him rippin it up like ppl think he will.. hopefully im wrong

I think it depends on his ball handling skill and whether he can lose some weight. He should be around 230 instead of 240 if he wants to be an elite SF. Dropping 10 pounds should make him a better leaper and quicker. If he can improve his ball handling skills, he will be awesome. Everything else is there.

The number 230 is not completely random. Per DX, his body fat percentage is over 10, which could and should be reduced to about 5 percent: that is about 12 pounds.

Shawn Marion has a similar body size right? Is there any reason this guy can't be better than Shawn Marion, whose had a very productive career?

Fairly confident that Marcus Morris will have the better pro career.

In his prime I see him as the best player on a decent team or the second best on an elite team. Something like that.

Shawn Marion in his prime was more of a leaper I think. Grabbing rebounds, finishing plays, and cleaning up around the hoop. Derrick seems like a more all-around player, with the ability to face-up and shoot and all that.

LeBron was the best player on a decent team and 2nd best behind Wade on an elite team.
