Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're getting at.

Are you saying if the guy voluntarily told the police officer he was high on some drug, he needs to be jumped by 6 other police officers?

When there are multiple police officers there, I expect them to be able to subdue to possible criminal without turning it into a 7-1 MMA event.

According to the US Census Bureau, the US population in 2000 was 281,421,906. Of that, 194,552,774 (69.1%) were white; 33,947,837 (12.1%) were black; and 35,305,818 (12.5%) were of Hispanic origin. Additionally, 2,068,883 (0.7%) were Native American, and 10,123,169 (3.8%) were Asian.

Of the 253,300 state prison inmates serving time for drug offenses at yearend 2005, 113,500 (44.8%) were black, 51,100 (20.2%) were Hispanic, and 72,300 (28.5%) were white.

In other words, even though blacks make up just over 12% of the population, they make up 44.8% of the prison inmates serving time for drug offenses. These stats are just for people actually in prison, the numbers for arrests is even more egregious, so to answer your question, yes, this stuff happens at a disproportionately higher rate to blacks.

Come on, Moon. That information doesn't prove anything and you know it.

It doesn't account for blacks' usage of drugs versus other groups.

Does it make it any more right that other country's are worse? Why don't we start judging things based on OUR principles and leave the relative theory principles to sadists.

What's right is right. I don't care if these cops in the video are better than those in other countries; they should know better. And nothing ticks me off more than a power trip. Most cops are great and respectful to their uniforms. Idiots like this give them all a bad name.

If you are saying that blacks use drugs at a rate far higher than whites, come out and say so and show your work. The fact is that while blacks do use drugs at a slightly (1%) higher rate than whites, that does not account for the MASSIVE racial disparities in arrests, prosecutions, and incarceration with regards to drugs.

Blacks make up 13% of the drug users in this country and yet account for 38% of drug arrests and 59% of those convicted of drug offenses.

Come up with some numbers that prove your case or you will continue to carry the same label as your brother.

The burden of proof is squarely on you.

You were the one missing perhaps the most relevant piece of data in your flimsy argument.

    I remain unconvinced

That tape is pretty disturbing and I find it very disturbing that its taken 6 months for this tape to surface.

I haven't been following this story ver closely but from what I understand was that when Jenkins was pulled over he was told to remain in the car but instead he stepped out. Why I'm not sure. The cop told him to get back in and when he didn't comply fast enough thats when what you see started in the video.

I provided the "proof" in the statistic that blacks use drugs at a 1% higher rate than whites, yet are incarcerated at a FAR higher rate than whites. I have provided evidence in the form of concrete statistics and you have provided whimsical musings.

You have been refuted until you come back with something substantial.
