    VIDEO CAMERAS- which is best?

I'm looking into buying a video camera... I want something that's high quality for professional work but isn't expensive because I am an amateur at video with hardly a budget. I also need good hookups on it for a computer and external mic... Any suggestions? Budget is at about 500 to 1200 dollars, US? any suggestions?

i'm using the Canon HFS100 and video quality is really clear. recording to an SDHC card is really convenient when its time to transfer. a battery upgrade is recommended cause the one included w/ the camera only lasts about an hour. low light video kinda sucks but every camera has that problem.

I'm glad this is the first reply, keeping cf's useless as it should be.
