Not to be flippant, but possibly related?

NY Times: "Dementia Risk Seen in Players in N.F.L. Study"
[rquoter]A study commissioned by the National Football League reports that Alzheimer’s disease or similar memory-related diseases appear to have been diagnosed in the league’s former players vastly more often than in the national population — including a rate of 19 times the normal rate for men ages 30 through 49.

The N.F.L. has long denied the existence of reliable data about cognitive decline among its players. These numbers would become the league’s first public affirmation of any connection, though the league pointed to limitations of this study.

The findings could ring loud at the youth and college levels, which often take cues from the N.F.L. on safety policies and whose players emulate the pros. Hundreds of on-field concussions are sustained at every level each week, with many going undiagnosed and untreated...[/rquoter]

I feel really sorry for the guy, who came across very respectful. I don't follow the NFL that closely, so I don't know anything about the guy, but if he was a 7th round pick then he may have next to zero public speaking experience.

He might just have a twitch ("like umm") when he's speaking in front of a crowd, and hopefully someone within the organization can help him with that.

    Oh, and...

The Bills shouldn't have let him do that, but maybe they were unaware he had such a big problem.

Pretty sad going through the youtube comments where people are joking about him being r****ded or taking shrooms before the press conference. I wonder how many of those guys would say that to his face or have been asked to speak publicly in front of camera's before? I lose faith in the human race sometimes.

It's probably a speech impediment or a nervous twitch, not the kind of thing I laugh at.

He has a speech impediment. (Plus, I imagine he was very nervous, which certainly magnified his condition).

Seems like an awesome guy though. Very gracious and humble. You can tell getting to the NFL hasn't gone to his head.

That wasn't nearly as hard to watch as I thought it would be after reading the thread.

Seems like he just has a speech impediment and the reporters all seemed to be very understanding. No big deal, really.

He was nervous, but I understand why. He was a seventh round pick... and he made the team. KUDOS for being a professional and saying "Yes, sir" to all the questions. I like this kid as a player. I would like to help him with his public-speaking skills.

I agree. I was expecting much worse. He was smiling, clearly pleased with his performance that day. He was polite.
Other people are trippin... not him.
