thanks for the vid he is a smart player, he played well and thats why I think he should earn more next season I would not mind giving him some extra money
I watched that series when it was on TV but I didn't pay as much individual attention to Bonzi. Now that this video lets me do that, I have a few comments about him... - he scored a bunch of points but I think there was only two jumpshots in that entire video. I love that. - he knows how to use his big (fat) body to gain an advantage under the basket, and he has great instincts (spins, headfakes, reverses) on the post. - there were no celebration antics after he made a nice play. he just turned around and got back on defense. Gotta appreciate that. Thanks for the video, RAID. I assume you captured it yourself. By the way, it kinda gave me a basketball erection.
yeah, its strange I noticed that too. He carries himself pretty well on the court. Definetly doesn't act like a "knucklehead" or anything. I do wanna see some aggressiveness from him if our team becomes a little timid like they normally are. But I don't think anyone's gonna be knockin us around. ESPECIALLY mike james.
Bonzi reminds me so much of how Jerry Stackhouse just abused the rockets two years ago in the playoffs. If he's willing to come off the bench, and take the Stackhouse type of role, he'll get his points and rebounds. And he wont have to share the ball nearly as much.
I think Bozi is better than Stack. Stack is probably a little bit more on the skill side, but I was impressed with Bozi's quickness and his strength. This guy is round and quick, like a shorter Barkley. Finishes well around the rim too. I am aslo for him to be the first to come off bench and finishes the game for us.
Exactly. Whoever the other team's best perimeter defender is, he's going to have nightmares the night before he plays the Rockets because he's going to have to stick the perimeter and protect the post. If it's not Bonzi, it's Tracy. If it's not Tracy, it's Bonzi. That's hell on earth right there. (and I just looked again...I think there's actually two jumpshots, but I think I got my point across )
people on spurstalk.com (or other spurs fans) claim that the spurs purposely allow Wells to go off on them and shut down everyone else because they know Wells himself cannot beat the entire spurs team alone
Notice where Brad Miller was on those clips. He's damn near the 3pt line sometimes! There's no way Bonzi will have that much space to operate with Yao on the floor, not to mention that Yao will be first option in the post. Even SAR and KT were at least eight feet away from the basket on the opposite baseline. We might have spacing problems.
That's why I like the idea of having Bonzi come off the bench, so he can go straight to work when Yao gets his first breather. And when they're in the game together, Bonzi will be the secondary post up guy playing on the opposite side of Yao. Good thing that they both appear to be able to set up on either side of the court.
