This happened during the summer here in Houston. That's "The Air Up There" from Hitchcock, TX. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIiZvIBs9fg <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MIiZvIBs9fg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MIiZvIBs9fg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I remember seeing this a long time ago.. pretty nice dunk. Not gonna happen in the NBA tho.. cus he'd probably get elbowed halfway around by Mutombo
He also did that on the Best Damn Sport Show when they were doing their top dunks of all time. They were filming from his home court and between the clips of the best dunks he did it for them.
Apparently, Hitchcock ISD doesn't teach geometry, because that wasn't even close to a 720. That was barely a 360 dunk when you look at it. What can you expect from a high school where cow tipping is considered an elective?
yeah, that hitchcock dunk was just a 360 in disguise. if you look at his body position right when he leaves the floor to where it is when he dunks, its only 1 full rotation. however, its pretty cool and i wish i could do any kind of dunk.
Not quite 720 but damn close. Not to mention most guys who do 360 dunks also come up a bit short of a full 360. All guys that attempt 360s position there body a little sideways before actually jumping.
It's closer to a 450 degree dunk. His body's facing the free throw line when he takes off. He rotates counter-clockwise. When he puts the ball through the hoop, he's facing the camera. One and a quarter revolutions = 450 degrees. He did a pretty good job of making it look like a 720 though. If you take into account that most 360 dunks players do aren't really even 360, then I guess we can say he pulled off a 540. Nowhere even close to a 720 though.
I played against this guy in high school. He was suspended or something of the sort because he didn't see the floor until the fourth quarter when we were up by 12 points. He came into the game and beat us practically by himself, dropping 20 pts and some pretty amazing dunks in just one quarter. I don't know why(or if) he never playered college ball, but he definitely had the stuff.
If you look at his feet when he takes off and when he lands, its a 720. If you only count the revolutions from when he take off and when he actually dunks, its a 540. Either way, it was bad ass and would he would have easily have won the nba dunk contest with it. Much better than Nate and he actually had to dribble the ball.
C'mon what is with the hate on this crazy dunk? So what if it's not an official scientific 720, but it's the closest anyone will ever get. He made 2 rotations once he left the ground, it's a 720 dunk in my book.
He doesn't say that....all I heard was: "I didn't think it was possible, he did a 720." Please point out the ***** part.
