How has he looked to you? I thought he was pretty impressive playing the point today. I know it's not his real position but he puts a lot pressure on other PGs and did a decent job running the point.

Just an experimental way to tank. Hennigan wants one more stud draft pick to form his core, which, at this rate, looks like it could be quite a strong core.
I've only watched the Magic-Cavs game so far, but it appears that the Magic run a ton of motion offense where typical PG play isn't as needed. In fact, with the type of offense they run, Olapdio at PG may create some favorable match-ups for them. Either way, Oladipo at (backup) PG is a way better option than Etwaan Moore and having Oladpio play some PG allows for more minutes for Afflalo and their other wings in need of PT.
IMO I would've done the rumored Aaron Afflalo for Eric Bledsoe trade if I was Orlando Bledsoe Oladipo Harkless Tobias Vucevic That team is oozing with potential, and idk if Oladipo is gonna make it as a PG
I doubt the Magic seriously think Oladipo is best used as a PG. He's not. But it probably won't hurt his development and it helps free up a few minutes for for Afflalo, Harkless and Tobia Harris at the wing. No Bledsoe trade or not, I doubt Afflalo is in the Magic's long-term plans. We'll see if it was wise hanging onto Afflalo for now or if they indeed should have traded him for Bledsoe. I'm fine with them keeping Affalo around for a while, personally. 3&D wings are always in demand.
i think Hennigan is trying to do with Olodipo what OKC did with Westbrook. Westbrook isn't your traditional pg, either, but he learned to make it work. Olodipo has the physical tools to just be a lead guard, regardless of the position.

Olidapo strikes me as someone who could be better than Westbrook. To me, he has more natural basketball instinct than someone who goes full speed recklessly like Westbrook.
Sure why not? They aren't playing for anything this year so put the ball in his hands and let him develop sort of like Miami did with D. Wade and OKC did with Westbrook. Obviously Wade no longer runs the point, but does Westbrook really run it either?
He'll hit Harden/Roy tier in 3 years or so if all things go well. Be that caliber of player. He's very deliberate and crafty, it's unique in players because of the pure power athletes like Rose, Wall, Westbrook usually more touted. It's advantageous in it's own way.
his feel for the step backs is really nice.. plays the in between game really well. not many players do that anymore
