Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick will not admit to killing dogs or gambling on dog fights, as detailed in his indictment, when he enters a guilty plea in a Richmond, Va., federal court Monday, a source close to the case has told ESPN. Instead, the one count of conspiracy that Vick will plead to will admit guilt to the charge of interstate commerce for the purpose of dogfighting.

Vick will admit that he was present when dogs were killed, but will maintain that he did not personally kill any of the dogs.

The allegations of killing dogs and gambling were part of the picture painted by Vick's three co-defendants, all of whom have pleaded guilty.

The source told ESPN that Vick's defense team met with federal attorneys Thursday afternoon to determine the "summary of facts" to which Vick will plead. But the source says Vick maintains that he never killed dogs and never gambled on a dog fight.

Vick, 27, is scheduled to enter his plea agreement Monday and could face up to five years in prison.

Vick's co-defendants said Vick provided virtually all the gambling and operating funds for the Bad Newz Kennels enterprise. Two of them also said Vick participated in executing at least eight underperforming dogs by various means, including drowning and hanging.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

That's got to be BS...I know due process hasn't occurred, but c'mon...You've read the statement by his lawyer the other day...

I will say I was surprised Vick camp didn't put more of a fight, or at least that's what it seemed...Hell, if OJ can walk , so can Vick...

I sure hope he can walk away without getting a jail sentence. Although I do believe that dogfighting is cruel, you have to admit that Vick is too good of an athlete to go down like this. Best luck to him.

    Animal Cruelty is intolerable
    That being said
I'd still be surprised if he serves more than a yr total on everything

as much as folx want to think other wise. . . .
more people would rather see him on Sunday than have him in prison
People are Vocal now. . but in a year. . . . the furor will have died
only Peta will be b*tching [no pun intended]
and the Red Meat Eating American Fan will remember they [PETA] the people
that want to take away their hamburgers. . . and dismiss them

    I beleive Vick will see the field again . . . . .
    Maybe the next Randle El

Whether he should or not . . . I have no position
    I won't cry either way

as long as Vick can bring the city a championship, that's all that matters. who cares what he does off the field. that sounds eerily familiar.

Guy's this is federal prison, not Huntsville. There are no 2 for 1 deals in federal prison. Vick is going to jail for at least 18 months.

He probably got the feds to agree to a not guilty plea on the animal cruelty cause he could still face state charges.

Caesar: "No, no, I did not partake in gladiator fighting. I maintain that I did not personally kill any of the gladiators, but I will admit that I was present when gladiators were killed. And yeah, I gave the thumbs down sign, too, ok? Can I go now."

Im not saying im tolerating what he allowed to happen to those dogs but its not like killed those dogs himself. He just allowed it to happen on his property and for that he should be on trial not for the killing of the dogs, that should be for those who participated in the fights(those who allowed their dogs to fight) And I guess this is a good way for him to get out of this situation by saying he was just present at the fights and took no part in it. I mean c'mon OJ got away with freaking murder a much more dreadful offense even thought all the evidence pointed to him. Im sure we'll live if Vick gets away with having dog fights on his property.

I'm not really tired of the story, since I haven't heard much about it. But then again I don't really watch the tv news or news commentary shows, and I can skip over the story on internet news sites.

But one year is still alot of time in jail for most everyone, especially if you have never been to jail, and especially if you are worth somewhere upwards of 60 million bucks.

I'm glad he's going to jail, but one year in Federal Prison is no picnic.

How do you know this? His co-defendants say the exact opposite, and said he killed up to 8 dogs with his own hands.

I wasn't saying that as if I knew personally. I was basing it off what Vick is gonna do by pleading not guilty. Right now they're just playing the blame game, maybe his friends dont wanna go down alone or w/e. Its their word against an NFL's superstar. I wonder who they'll believe.

Why do rappers like to call women "b*tches?"
The same reason why they call guys "dawgs"
