of course it's not to soon.
you have the u.s. intervention in the caribbean and grover cleveland's second term and the rise of teddy roosevelt.
let's not forget all those wacky people who thought the world was coming to an end at the turn of the century.
    my favorite year was 1896.

Pasox2 holds instant nostalgia in the same high regard as the third-person reference. It's post-postmodern slacker whismy!

    plcmts17, hilarious.

Nostalgia is a mild form of depression, y'all.

I do remember VH1 having a video show in 1992-93 that played strictly 80's material, so this isn't exactly unprecedented for cable stations looking for cheap programming.

The 70s and 80s were fun decades. The 90s sucked. I doubt it will be nearly as funny as the first two. I think it is too early to do the 90s. Part of the fun is the nostalgia. But anything for a buck for VH1.

God forbid they actually play videos! I can't remember the last time I actually saw a video on that channel.

What are some things you think they might talk about?

Here are some things I think they might discuss:

Tattoos and Piercings: People in jail, gang members, and rebels used to get them but in the 90s everybody was getting them.

Beanie Baby craze: Who doesn't remember this?

Fanny packs: A fashion no no now.

Overalls: Who here was a teen in the 90s and remembers getting a pair and wearing one strap unhooked, buttoned, or loose?

    Boys Bands: NSYNC, Backstreet, etc.

    Grunge: Music scene.

Gangsta rap: The start of a controversial music.

The Macarena: Dance craze that shook America.

Gigapets / Tomogatchi: The digital pet you had to care for on a keychain.

Furby: I bought two of these, anybody else?

Budweiser commercials: From wassssssup to the Frogs.

Bill Clinton presidency: One for the ages

Wireless communication revoluiton: They hit it big in the 90s

    Internet: Ditto with above

Michael Jordan: Won all 6 in the 90s

    Michael Jackson: Rememeber...his first case

90s movies: Forrest Gump, The Lion King, Home Alone, Titanic, Jurassic Park, etc.

Scary movie revival: Scream, I Know What You Did Last Sumer, The Sixth Sense, etc.

Is it because you watched E! and happened to catch the "101 reasons why the 90's ruled" show, and they happened to mention every one of those things? ;)

Hah, it's amazing how you're spot on with that show though. I believe that only thing not mentioned was the overalls.

In case anyone's wondering, E! said the #1 reason why the 90's ruled was........ Seinfeld.

Pretty sad for the 90's huh?

Complaining about there being no music videos on MTV and VH1 is a very 90's thing to do....

Old? Perhaps. I will be 31 this year. Is that old? I dont know. I look at 70s and 80s as nostalgia...I dont feel like the 90s are. 2000s have been better. Not as fun as the 70s or 80s but better than the 90s. We still have a ways to go though to define the decade. ;)

The start of the reality television boom.

    The Jerry Springer Show.

Tommy Hilfiger clothing surges in popularity.

    Ren & Stimpy.

    South Park.
