TheFreak Did you hear that Poison is touring again this summer. They are in Houston on 5/27, I think. For that date and for the San Antonio date (5/26) the concert will start at 2:30, and will have: BulletBoys EnuffZnuff Quiet Riot Great White Warrant Vince Neil from Motley Crue Poison I think tickets go on sale 4/7. Sure to be an entertaining day. ------------------ "Her Box Started Buzzing Ever Since She Heard The CRÜE"
Twisted Sister should be number one. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
Dee snyder of twisted sister has hosts a radio show in the morning on radio 104.1 in hartford conneticut.. It is the best morning show. during the summer there are quite a few people in construction that drive around in their cars listening to his show till 10am, than start work and work till late. it is truely funny. www.radio104.com they now refer to the whole station as dee snyder radio. I live on Long Island mind you, so his station barely reaches. he talked about this honor on the air. funny stuff ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
Where's Motley Crue's Girls Girls Girls? Awesome song... ------------------ "Awesome baby!" Dick Vitale
This lineup probably would've been fine in 1989, but who wants to see a bunch of old, bloated-from-the-alcohol-and-drugs guys trying to hold on to something they lost 10 years ago? As a wise musician once said, "Better to burn out than fade away." ------------------ AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
So what you are saying is that you aren't going? You asked who would want to go? I do. Apparently I am not alone because when I saw Poison two years ago with Ratt the place was packed (CW Pavillion). ------------------ "Her Box Started Buzzing Ever Since She Heard The CRÜE"

Hey hey, Edit your post and you will thank me in the morning. Mango ------------------ Get it right or just don't do it! Resistance is futile....you will be assimilated. [This message has been edited by Mango (edited April 01, 2001).]
They guy from Def Leppard borrowed that phrase. That was from a 50's song originally. By the way, I did see all of these bands in the 80's. ------------------ AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
DUDE--yeah, I want to go. I've been to the Houston shows the past 2 years. It's on a Sunday this year, though. I want to go to the SA show on that Saturday, but I don't really have an Austin/SA hair metal concert-going contingency. Let me know if you're interested in checking it out. Jeff--I was just wondering if you think all past-their-prime artists should hang it up, or just ones from the 80s. Btw, Poison is in better shape now than they ever were. Like DUDE said, this has been a very popular tour the past couple of summers. They put on a very energetic show. And Znuff isn't even a hair band. Voice--Dee Snider used to have (still may, I don't know) a nationally syndicated Hair Metal show called the House of Hair. Don't know if that's what you're referring to or if this is something different he's doing now. kid--it's the groups that are ranked, not the songs. They just picked one video for each artist to show for the countdown.
nahh, he does the house of hair show on the weekends. but he now has a morning show on the weekdays. I grew up in the 80s, and didnt care much for hair metal, but I love dee snyder radio. it is actually a funny/intelligent show. way better than Stern, Imas, or man cow. peace ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
That's a really good question. Personally, if they are past their prime, I think they should hang it up. Foghat, the Moody Blues, REO Speedwagon are all bands I think are probably over the hill. I guess I just view some of the 80's band in a way that makes me biased not because I didn't like them then but because I liked them so much I hate to see them keep going. In many ways, it mirrors an aging athlete for me. I like to remember them in their prime. Znuff has ALWAYS been an exception, but I've heard what the others have done recently and it sounds rehashed to me. It is harder for me to believe the 40-year-old hard-living, drug-using party rocker than it is the 24-year-old version. It just feels forced to me. By the way, Freak. You were right about Znuff. Their recent stuff is very good. I was really impressed when I listened. Thanks for mentioning that to me before. In fact, I was just saying the other day that power pop seems to be on the rise again. I hope Znuff gets some pub from it. To me, they still have something to add and they sound like they have grown musically. ------------------ AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
Jeff--that's awesome that you rediscovered EZN. They really just can't catch a break--they basically have to do this tour just to get noticed, even though they don't like to be lumped in with those bands. Rick Nielsen, Billy Corgan, and James Young from Styx actually play lead guitar on some tracks on their "Paraphernalia" album (1997). Anyway, don't know if you've heard this yet, but here's their latest 'single' from their new album "10" from their label's website: There Goes My Heart mp3 I just love power pop...pretty much addicted to good hard-edged power pop. I've found so many great bands like that in the past few years--Marvelous 3, Coward, the Katies, Tsar, the Yo-Yo's--even mainstream stuff like Lit and Eve 6. You're right, that genre does seem to be getting their time in the sun right about now.
Freak: You should absolutely check out www.popbang.com immediately. I don't know if you have seen/heard it, but it is 24-hours a day power pop internet radio. Everything from Cheap Trick and EZN to new stuff. It just kills me when I hear it. It is like ear candy! I did hear the song you mentioned. I like it a lot. Part of me wishes they would occasionally do something a little different (change production a little, etc) but the other part of me is comforted by hearing they haven't. I like that they've re-done a couple of Trick songs though I would've passed on the re-do of Tears of a Clown, but that has more to do with my love for Smokey Robinson than anything. My partner and I are getting ready to record a batch of pure power pop songs just because we are in the mood. I love that stuff. I still can't get over how much the EZN guy sounds like Elvis Costello. It is uncanny and I love Costello too. ------------------ AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
Jeff, thanks for the link, I will definitely have to check that out. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with as well.
Ok I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw the list... She's my cherry pie, cool drink of water, such a sweet surprise, taste so good, make a grown man cry, sweet cherry pie! Thank you ------------------
I tried so hard, to make you see. But I could'nt find the words. Now the tears, they fall like rain I'm alone again Without you....... 80's metal was great. ------------------ "Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen" -Hudson
