I'm listening to some dude who comes on at 11pm on 610 on the national show. A caller asks why Webber isn't interested in going to the Rockets. The moronic host says: "He's concerned about getting touches with Francis and Mobley in the back court. Francis is a selfish ball player." Huh? Steve Francis? Rudy had to beg him to take more shots. What a moron . . . That's the thing about the Rockets though -- most major sports talk show hosts don't actually know ANYTHING about the Rockets, and just make general, uninformed statements like this loser. But if you want REALLY bad talk radio hosts, go to San Antonio -- in the afternoon on 760 they have this show with two guys and a girl, and NONE of them know a single thing about basketball. Anybody with 1/4th of a brain knows that Francis isn't a selfish player! If that host had bothered to look up info he would realize that Webber WAS interested in coming to Houston BECAUSE of Cuttino and Francis. Only an idiot would say "Duh, uh, he is afraid he won't get touches, uh, duh, and Francis is a selfish player!" I listen to Jim Rome, and he tends to be a bit negative, but he sings the praises of Steve Francis on a regular basis as being unselfish. Being on national t.v. once will do that to ya. They don't know anything about the Rockets because we didn't get any national coverage. I'm sure next year people will start to see the real Steve Francis because you've got to believe they'll be on national t.v. a few times. ------------------

I agree. I disagree with some things Romey says, but for the most part he is well-informed, and is opinionated, which I like, and is funny and entertaining. Rome always praises Francis AND Cat. He pretty much says what Webber, and Doc Rivers, and the others around the league say, that Francis and Mobley are an exciting backcourt. Rome doesnt come on at 11 pm anyways. It is one of those Rick Baloo, Bob Kemp guys--i can never get them straight. I used to like the guy from NY a couple of years ago who was real fat (at least he claimed to be) but most of the late night guys suck now and always think they know more than their callers and cut them off. Rome can do that cause he often does know more than his callers (he knows sports and has the power to interview nearly everybody) and because that is part of his mantra. It makes me wonder why anyone would voluntarily call into one of these shows at night. ------------------ American business long ago gave up on demanding that prospective employees be honest and hardworking. It has even stopped hoping for employees who are educated enough that they can tell the difference between the men's room and the women's room without having little pictures on the doors.

I thought Rick Baloo comes on at 11? I actually like Rick, he's a lot more caller friendly in my opinion than most national guys. I hate to defend his opinion on Steve, but you have to remember that it's a national show with a lot more major market affiliates that call in a lot more than Houston, so it's kind of wishful thinking to expect the guy to know everything about every player in every major sport. Plus all he really has to go with is the national media, and they never talk about the Rockets b/c they never made the playoffs, when they make the playoffs, I'm sure a lot of national guys will fall in love with this team much like they fell in love with the Kings. Now if it was Bob Kemp, well I agree, he's a worthless piece of crap. Also as far Jim Rome, Houston's one of his top affiliates, of course he'll know more about Houston sports. He has to cater to his major affiliates. One thing that's slightly lame about Rome is he'll badmouth a guy all day, but if he does an interview on either his radio or tv show, the guy's all of a sudden a "good jungle guy". He's like the ultimate brown-nose...but I still listen to him on occasion b/c of the e-mails and the callers.
