I remember that shot! I went nuts.

Mad Max seemed to have a million buzzer beating shots.

I was at that game!!! It was insanity.....everybody around us thought that the ball had gone out of bounds, and then he just throws it up and it goes in.

I remember the shot and it was a great moment but I'm gonna rain on the parade. Max's foot was out of bounds. Never realized it until seeing this video.

that shot was just sick.... did anybody noticed the score? 126-124! Those were the good old days, if I remember correctly, this was in Dec '94? I believe before New Year's Eve.

For bonus points, who was commentating with Bill? Robert Reid?

EDIT: I just noticed JB put the date on the thread topic, heh I was right :)

To think a month after this video came the Portland incident, and the end of his Rocket days.

still one of my favorite memories from all of rocketdom. robert horry in a big situation actually screws up, but since he's robert horry it works out anyway. hakeem falls down and is just looking up through the hoop as it goes in. max hits another crazy buzzer beater. the clock starts, then stops, then starts, probably would've been close to expired had they started it right when maxwell caught it and not stopped it until the made shot.

also, there were still 1.6 or 1.9 seconds left and tim hardaway got off a halfcourt shot at the buzzer that i believe hit the backboard and then the rim. we damn near still lost the game on an even crazier shot.

not according to the video i'm watching. if you watch around 30 seconds left on the clip, they give a perfect angle on the replay and his foot right before his jump is still in play. it lifts up and you can still see court on the other side of the part of his foot that's still down. i think the step before looks like it goes out when it really doesn't.

No kiddin. He had his moment though. He hit a big 3 with under 2 minutes left in this game.

Color man was Robert Reid. Calvin picked the wrong game to take off.

    "N-B-A Basket-Bawl!!!"

Love the cheesy "It takes 2," playing the the background..

Man, Mad Max was as clutch as they come. Guess that's who taught Horry how to be clutch. ;)

    Man, the good ol' days...
