i just got a new car and the dealership put THEIR ADDRESS   on my Title Application. I called them and they said they cant help me now, I have to call the Texas Dept of Transportation. They told me to call the financial institution to get that changed.

Hope to hear from the Clutchfans if they had experienced any crap from the car dealerships.

Wow. Did they check to see if that dude was your dad? or they just blindly sold it without checking photo id.

So I basically have to wait til my title is processed and then called Texas Dept of Trans to change my address. I'm sure there is a processing fee too. I called the dealership and told them they have to pay for the screwup.

what FREAKING MORONS!!! is it so hard to figure out how to copy someone's address? what were they smoking? my address is NOTHING like theirs.

    basically its like this
    TINMAN
    100 MYSTREET #100

    they put
    TINMAN
    100 THEIRSTREET #100

I want to go Vernon Maxwell on the dealership now. I know they dont care about crap after they sell you a car that they rush the title process. GRRR!!!

They never found him. After he bought the car, he spent 5000 each at Home Depot, Wal=mart, target, and Costco.

Would you feel comfortable in naming the dealership? I'd like to know where I shouldn't go to buy a car.

In early January of this year my 05 MINI Cooper S with 32000 miles broke down between here and Louisiana. I got the car towed back to the dealership and then things went south from there.

The dealership called early the next week and said I had an oil leak caused by the gasket on the oil filter. I had the oil changed the week before at CarSpa and had noticed a slight drip but hadn't had time to take my car to the dealer. I had topped off my oil before leaving town with 1/4 of a quart.

The dealer told me they wouldn't cover the damage because it was caused by an aftermarket oil change and that I needed a new long block. Cost of repairs = $7500.

I talked with CarSpa and they sent someone out to check on my car. They then denied my claim that it was their fault.

My lawyer said I was stuck in the middle and had very little chance of recovering any money from either but to get a second opinion on the damage and repair from a neutral source so I had my car towed to Bavarian Hyper Sports.

They told me they couldn't tell me what caused the damage but that the repair estimate was correct, I needed a long block. Their repair estimate = $6600.

Since it was coming out of my pocket I told them to go ahead and repair it.

After they put the new engine in they called me up and told me the water pump wasn't pushing coolant around the engine and they thought that might have caused my engine to be blown.

I called MINI and they agreed to pay for the water pump if it was really bad but not the engine because they said lack of oil is what caused my engine to die.

I told BHS to fix my waterpump but to document everything so I could get my money back from MINI.

The guys from BHS called 2 days later and told me that the waterpump itself wasn't dead but the gear that is driven by the shaft from the supercharger that engages the waterpump was completely stripped and they were 100% sure that is what caused my engine to die.

I got MINI back on the phone and it took a couple weeks for them to get the BMW North America Technical advisor out to check out my MINI and then another week for them to get back to me but in the end they agreed to make total restitution on my MINI.

    Total repair bill = $9645.00
Total time without my car = over 2 months.

I got a great deal on the car, i dont want to diss the whole place if it was some dumb data entry girl who messed it up. there's bad data entry people all over the place.

the loan person at bank of america wrote my address wrong, i put unit#1000
they put that i live on 1000st street
what city on the planet has a 1000st street??

ok, your problem was worse than my bad data entry problem!

if it makes you feel better, i had the same issue with my civic (overheating) but that was at 177K miles.

So that's what Vernon Maxwell's been doing after the NBA.... I'm starting to understand your unwillingness to give out names.

Vernon would have an awesome dealership. your car would be fast and perform great.

you get a free membership to any gym that has free weights with your car.

Didn't Elvin Hayes have a VW dealership?
