So, this morning I'm driving to work with the wife, and she says it would be fun to get away one weekend and head to Vegas; maybe on the weekend before Valentine's day. I know that many people here have gone to Vegas lately, so does anyone know where I can get the hookup on some travel deals? I've been once before and stayed at New York New York, so we'd like to stay somewhere on the strip. I've heard from people that travel to Vegas can be fairly cheap, but I just don't know where to find the best deals. Any links/advice is appreciated!
I've got a lot of ideas and good tips. If you apologize for calling me gay yesterday, I might share them with you.
Used travelocity when I went last month. Actually I tried orbitz and expedia too, travelocity just had more flight choices for me and ended up being a better fit. Hotel rooms all seemed very inexpensive, but it was one of their slower weeks.
go to orbitz, expedia, and travelocity individually for the hotel rooms because i've found while usually they have the same deals - every once in a while one of them has a "special rate". i got to stay at Aladdin (4 stars) for $99 the Thursday before new years when Aladdin's own website had it for $499.... i think i got it through travelocity
my sister is having her bachelorette party there in a few wks and we've got our flights, just need hotels. we have 6 girls flying in. do you know how to specifically request a suite? i've used priceline many times before and i know you can't request things like that. but i usually call right afterwards and ask for doubles, but i doubt you can priceline a room and request a suite. any advice?
Go to the Rio if you need a lot of room ....as in a suite...Rio is all suites....its not comparable to the nicer, newer places, but the rooms are huge
thanks for the advice...any more on getting big rooms for a good rate??? i think we did want something on the strip. also, has anyone ever been on Superbowl weekend? that's the weekend we are going. is it crazy there? well...crazier than normal?? -ruby
Just a little tip for when you get there, Play Casino War! It's your best chance of winning. You place a bet, the dealer deals one card to you and one to themselves, all you have to do is have a higher card then them. Best odds in Vegas.
I go every superbowl weekend for the last 5 years. We have stayed at Ceasars, MGM, The Venetian, and Mandalay Bay. I like the Ventian the best followed by Mandalay Bay, but none of them are bad. DD
Superbowl weekend is nuts....but then again, most other weekends are as well....the Sportsbooks are jammed Superbowl weekends. If youu want a cheaper place on the strip, try New York New York , Monte Carlo or possibly Paris...The Hotel at mandalay Bay (not the mandalay bay...the building right next to it that is ownded bt mandalay bay but called "The Hotel"") is all suites too....every room has a 42 inch plasma TV but they may be more expensive than the other i mentioned....Super Bowl weekend you will be hard pressed to find a good suite becuase most of them go to high rollers
Does Mandalay Bay qualify as "the Strip"? It's kinda removed from the rest of the hotels distance wise, except the Luxxor. Nice casino though.
its at the end of the strip.....thats why i was saying earlier, that even though the rio isnt on the strip, you would have to take the same cab to caesars that you would if you were staying at mandalay bay for that matter, if you stay off the strip, the Hard Rock is possibly the most fun place for bachelor/bachelorette parties
