You know you are on Houston Rockets fan board, right? As in Houston, Texas? I think this must be a troll thread or something...nobody would really just volunteer to be abused like this, right? Then again, I hear protein in your diet is essential to proper brain function, so who knows. And in case I need to make it clear for you...No. Just No. I do appreciate your sacrifice in leaving more meat for the rest of us. As such, I'd like to help you out on your quest for dietary purity. Have you considered going on the 30 bananas a day plan? Or another raw vegan diet? Maybe soylent green is right for you?
This is the hangout where everything and anything is posted, Houston is a very big and diverse city with lots of different people, cultures and lifestyles that support many different kinds of diets. And is there really such thing as a troll thread in the hangout?(excluding HoneyBear) lol. The vegan diet doesn't consist of torture, but many vegetables(if done properly). All the essential amino acids, omegas and may other things are essential to proper cognitive function, which is great because a vegan diet is packed full of all the essential amino acids(again, if done properly). Of course, you don't think meat and dairy is the only source of protein, right? Thanks for your appreciation bro
Interesting. I know a good half dozen or so vegans who are about it solely based on the cruelty of eating meat. They also actually eat very healthy diets and rarely touch processed food. I just don't hear them brag about it. I'm trying to clean things up but I still eat wild caught seafood. It's mostly about the factory farming of cows, pigs and chickens that has me off eating meat and dairy.
There definitely is a good portion of vegans who eat vegan junk food. I used to be one of them at the start when I was too lazy to cook, binging on Amy's frozen meals/soups, Vegan cookies/icecream etc. I always tell people being vegan isnt as inherently healthy as many think, a lot of junk foods, candies are vegan. Same with eating organic foods. I actually gained about 5 pounds on a vegan diet, one day about 3 months into my vegan diet I got tired of eating junk food and wanted to truly start eating healthy. So I cut out all the frozen fooda, canned foods, junk foods, started eating vegetables, fruits and salads like crazy and lost 15 pounds in about 1 month. Eating healthy or unhealthy is a choice independet from being vegan, vegetarian or omnivore. As long as your eating a lot of vegetables, cut out junk food and have a proper exercise regime you should be pretty good. Organic is a little different but that's another topic. Glad to hear your cleaning up your diet and good luck with it bro.
Please eat wild caught seafood sparingly if at all. The oceans are polluted with our garbage with things like plastics, microbeads, and other chemicals slowly climbing up the food chain. Then there are the usual suspects like mercury poisoning. At this point, we're all part of a huge experiment on how our industrial waste from all levels eventually affects our bodies, but it doesn't hurt to diversify and eat specific foods in moderation. Great job on cutting processed food, btw. Certainly one of the hardest parts of transitioning to a healthier lifestyle.
And I do everything in my power to avoid Montrose so I don't have to deal with this Bing Bong vegan crap. Jk I love Riva's.
I'm just having a bit of fun with you. How are you handling the vitamin B12 deficit? It seems we both agree that it's good to stay away from sugar and processed foods... Perhaps not in that order, but they are both detrimental. Why do you believe that eating eggs and cheese are bad for you? Why would you stay away from free range protein? It seems you are really limiting your choices as a vegan.
