As another poster mentioned in the NBA forum, The Adulterer wil be replaced by VC.

I think it should have been offered to Stevie. Steve has posted better numbers and been a more dominant player, so if you have to replace a guard w/ a guard, why not give it Franchise.

    Shafted by Stu yet again...

In the league, SF3 is considered as a second or third tie star, that is confirmed, again.

Remember the All NBA team? He failed to make even the third team.

I wish he can fight back next season and lead Rox deep into playoff, with Yao of course. :p

I kinda agree with francis not being a super star, but only because he gets shafted. Francis doesnt get the respect he deserves because we never make the playoffs. Once he shows off his skills there, he will get more respect. He deserves more credit, his numbers are sick and only get better each year.

Vince was only the replacement because Shawn Marion turned down an invitation and Michael Finley did so as well.

all that means is that the fans like him. the ballot is a popularity contest...nothing more, nothing less.

the truth is that steve francis is a 2nd tier star....and there's no shame in that, at all.

He may be a 2nd tier star, but he deserves an invitation. He's made it known that he wants to play which is more than you can say for most of the other players who seem so casual about it.

Stevie deserves the invite. I'm saying that as a USA Basketball fan, not just a Rocket fan.

yep. he does deserve an invite. it would be refreshing to see an olympian that actually wants to be there.

OK for the record: Francis was not picked because he plays POINT GUARD. Kobe plays SHOOTING GUARD. Vince Carter plays SHOOTING GUARD.

    Any questions?

I think people are talking about Stevie not being picked AT ALL, not just as Kobe's replacement....

Fair or not, the basketball pundits who select for All-NBA and Olympic teams do not equate Stevie with winning basketball. Getting deep into the playoffs is the only way to change that perception.

uhm, only one basketball pundit selects the Olympic team.

Stu Jackson - who's resume includes the Vancouver Grizzlies and the 6th place team at the World Championships. Also, he's the GM who drafted Francis and who was spurned by Francis. I don't think that even if Francis leads the Rockets deep into the playoffs, averages 20-10, looks like Jordan-incarnate - and in his free time cures cancer, and saves small kittens from the perils of tall oak trees.

    Stu Jackson loathes Francis.

Does the fact that Carter is a proven Olympic performer not count for anything? The guy outplayed everyone else on the team in the Sydney Olympics and saved the team from defeat against Lithuania.

Carter has dropped to Stevie's 2nd (or 3rd?) tier status thanks to injury but rather than be insulted by the exclusion of Francis - I'm more concerned why other 2nd tier stars like Finley and Marion were asked ahead of Carter... maybe they figured he'd decline in order not to risk injury, yet again?

    A healthy Carter > Francis.
