I think what BiGGieStuFF mean to say is he didn't get much playing time on the Greek National Team. He's their 3rd or 4th guard in the rotation. So that's understandable.
It's 14.5 in 28 mpg. Also 3.1 apg, 2 rpg, 1.4 spg, and 2.6 tpg. He was incredibly efficient as a scorer, with a 65.4 TS%. Not sure how that ranks with other Euroleague players.
If you have read my translation carefully, you will know that the interview was taken in the lobby upon the check-in of the Greek national team at the Nanjing Grand Hotel. The historical picture of Yao Ming shaking hand with Vassilis Spanoulis was taken later on the court in the Nanjing Olympic Stadium while both teams were at their team practice. Therefore, no contradiction to what Spanoulis said.

Hmmm, what a complex enigma. Well, possibly it's because we own the rights for Vspan, and not the starters.
Or because the Greek coach is Euro JVG, in that he doesn't like to play rookie/young kids? Does anybody know how old those other Greek guards are?
