Beating Miss St in overtime in the SEC tourney was solid. Great game. My buddy and I were the only Vandy guys at SRO, surrounded by Miss St fans. Glad to see the Dores show they can play with the big boys. They've beaten KY and MS St....and the Bulldog victory wasnt a home game.

I need to find somewhere to see tomorrows game.. now that I think I might not make the trip to baylor to see the vandy vs baylor baseball game. thought about starting this post, but figured no one cared... I was at the home game last week when they barely beat us by 3 points so I was thinking this was possible.. the memorial magic is definitely back in nashville.. I'm supposed to be getting an email regarding tickets on sunday evening ... hopefully I can find a way to make it to the first round but it's not likely with my class schedule for the week. Pretty pumped about that win.... I was going crazy when the women came back from 18 down in the 2nd half to win sec tourney last weekend... more stuff I want to say sorry about double post... Huge props to Vandy and the students (the ones who pushed for it) for retiring Perry Wallace's jersey this season. I meant to post this earlier, but never got the chance. First african american in SEC, and glad to see vandy acknowleding him mainly I'm happy because they all seem to be solid guys. because a lot of them live in my dorm and from contact I've had with somein classes etc they just all seem to be good guys.... there is a future beyond freije with some of the younger guys on the team.. dawid. the 7 footer had an offnight but he has been on lately. mario moore gives that team heart and plays with amazing energy. funny guy too.. corey smith from lamar.. good enforcer... heart of the team often julian terrell .. good upside.. quality game tonight.. dawid has really done well lately. tonight wasn't his usual self.. hundley, lakey, martin (hasn't really ever gotten to play due to injuries), and freije will be missed but there is a future too
Ahhhh **** the Gators. Great game all around, but I don't think Florida deserved that game. Truly disappointing. Does anybody else not like Roberson? I think he's a fine player and all, but there's something about him that makes me want to vomit when I watch him. He's a pesky little guy out there, but he appears to be full of himself when he takes shots sometimes. Great game for Vandy; can't wait to see them demolish the tired Florida team. Go 'dores!
mr mooch.. the only florida game I've seen this year was vs vandy so I can't speak too much on roberson.. but looking at his stats in this game. he sure did jack things up didn't he.. there are some horrid percentages between him and walsh tonight. before I get bashed for giving props to vandy and not perry wallace. .. yes he deserves them, but the situation was one where it took a long time to get his jersey retired so giving them credit for getting the right thing done.
alumni here. i got to see the end of regulation on ESPN, but I had to follow the OT online. ESPN cut to the game for some bonus coverage so that kinda made my night. anyway, helluva game. great to see the guys again, especially mario. he was always a spark plug on campus. i'll probably try to find a sports bar tomorrow to watch the game since we cant get it down here. oh yeah, i'll be in nashville next week for the stepshow. looking forward to that GO DORES
jelanit.. you graduated last year I'm guessing? what is the stepshow? I don't know mario personally other than saying a few words in the elevator a few times, but he always seems to have a high energy level and very friendly.
yeah class of 03. the stepshow is sort of a dance/stomp competition held between the historically black frats/sororities on campus. it's usually a pretty big draw. its in langford next saturday if i am not mistaken
SRO on the corner of 290 and 610 will have Florida vs. Vandy today at 2:15....also it says it is available on channel 620 on Time Warner Cable as pay per view....but I am out the door to do a 60 mile warmup ride for the MS150 so I cant research it. Go Dores. Roberson made me sick when he sunk 5 3s against the Dores a couple weeks ago. I'd like to see some payback.

Man, that is great news! I have Vandy connections as that is where my mom graduated with her bachelor's! I went to the home game against Auburn earlier this season and Memorial Gym definitely has a special kind of magic (wasn't that the name of a Queen song?). Anyway, hopefully the Dores can get a #6 or #7 seed out of this for the NCAA. Go Vandy!
jelanit.. sounds interesting, I'm sure there will be stuff up advertising for it when I get back, just hadn't heard of it yet.. manny. the students are getting into it this year.. the game vs university of tennessee last week when we came back had a lot of energy to it. this board has a huge amount of vandy associated people... didn't realize there are as many in houston as there are..im sure i'll appreciate it come job time.
I once knew a guy who went to Vandy. He said, "You don't call Harvard, 'Harvey', so don't call Vanderbilt, 'Vandy'.
It saves me a slight second by saying vandy instead of vanderbilt... although if I'm with people who don't go there I usually use the correct name.
Sucks to be beat by a b.s. shot like that, but Alabama is playing their best basketball of the year. I'm in Atlanta right now covering the tournament and I will have to say, Thursday was the worst day of hoops I've ever seen. Great win by Vanderbilt over a MSU team I felt was a darkhorse final four candidate. Guess they are a paper bulldog now.
Just had to say this for years: The Florida band SUCKS. They play some of the most annoying music known to man. And their quality of cheerleaders is sub par.
