The Van Gundy brothers are at the helm of the two teams with the longest winning streaks right now (9 and 5)... talk about a family of great coaching minds.... I'm glad I never jumped on the Fire Van Gundy bandwagon.... I knew from the moment the Rockets picked him up last season that the Rockets were going to be a great team (especially in the playoffs).... I think JVG is a high basketball IQ coach that also happens to have a personality that makes him accessible to the younger players... yet he still maintains a strong leadership presence... He has basically turned around the team and fixed everything that people on this board criticized him for in the first two months... JVG for coach of the year!
Ya know.... The Rockets have upped their game and are legitimate contenders for the championship. I don't mean to jump the gun but... .. can you imagine the matchup if we make it to the championship and face the Heat? Brother vs. Brother (the Van Gundys), Yao vs. Shaq.
