I'm sure the Chinese government could compensate him a little bit. Yao could hook him up.

The Rockets organization should cover this monstrous fine and look back on it as money well invested for the future.Go JVG!

$100,000!?!? HOLY SMOKES!! That is a huge fine for a coach. Is it the largest fine ever given to a coach?

This was a coordinated response to Mark Cuban, with the Chronicle and NY Times essentially running the same articles. I'm sure Les and the front office gave the green light, and I wouldn't be surprised if they picked up the TAB.

I really hope the players see how far Van Gundy stepped out on this to help them out (Yao in particular obviously) and go out there and give a little extra for him tonight.

I know, they should already be giving their all, but let's be realistic. Nobody gives 100% for 100% of the time. Maybe tonight they can get a little closer to it though.

You know Gundy need the hearing device in that Nike ad, volume adjustable. Mrs. Gundy is going to be on his ear 24x7. :D

    wow thats crazy 100Gs???

isnt the fine usually 10G? thats what avery got after game 1 and if i remember correctly is usually what mark cuban got too for his previous complaining. cubans fines have gotten larger since he is a repetitive complainer. i am shocked that he got fined that large of an amount for the first time this year.

wow 100 grand thats crazy, but i am sure les will pick up the tab.

Looks like Jeff hit a nerve. Let's hope it gives the team an extra lift to go out and win tonight.

Herr Stern is the ultimate dictator, the best commissioner in sports....The man has had to rule this league with an iron fist while shaping the NBA into his vision.(a global one)
On one hand, the amount shocks me for a non owner, but if you consider that the game is to play 6 or 7 ,then it makes more sense.
